Totally car-unrelated. :)

So I just returned from my regular scheduled 6-weekly haircut. Wife doesn't like my hair too short, and I hate it long and scruffy. I have been going to the same Hair Salon for the last 17 years now, mainly because I really like the staff, and in particular the lady who I started there with all those years ago. She knows me well, and cuts my hair perfectly to my requirements every time. The price is very fair at $20 - especially on a basic men's cut. Barber Shops around here charge around $12-16 for a hedge-cutter type look. The biggest buzz is the banter I have with the girls....and of course there are side benefits.
I used to get my hair washed before cutting, not because my hair was dirty....it was more for the massage from the luscious wenches doing it. :D It is not uncommon to catch a glimpse or two of side-boob, and the mostly see-through tops are a sight to behold.

So I walk in today and Charlotte greets me, says would you like a coffee? Then says what'll it be today? I said "let's go to the Special Room"....she says "You wish." with a dirty look in her eye....jokingly and loud enough for all the other customers to hear her. And because she is a 'larger' girl, I often get boobs pushed in to me and my face when she cuts the front areas.....can't say that I have ever complained about that.

I have my bookings being done right through till the end of 2018 now. My wife also goes to the same Salon at a similar interval, and she is treated extremely well....I suspect that some stories are swapped when she goes.....lol

Have a vote and tell us your stories....

Years ago when i had hair i went to Sal the barber. Learned his trade in the old country, came here got licensed and made a modest living. Today i dont have much hair left. Mostly on the sides, so i get the 1/2 attachment on the clippers which is very short, just shy of shaving it all off. Sal is long gone and the new guys are mostly Albania's. There nice though and cut the hair out of my ears, strange i use to never have hair growing out of my ears.

For the close cut I get, no need for a barber and the $12 bucks. I just have to listen to the wife bitch while she cuts it. I tell her to give me the 12 bucks and she won't need to do it. That usually quiets her down.

Are we talking the carpet& the drapes(like a color change on top)? Senior citizen-$10, but none of your side benefits..

I took care of that a long time. I married the stylist, free haircuts every two week.

Mom cuts my hair when travel to Florida. In between, it waits. Used to go to a barber school. Half price on Mondays was $1. Never got a bad haircut there. Trin college on Staufer in San Jose. 6 young ladies gather to watch and learn. Nice. Very little English spoken.

traditional barber shop in town, complete with the

full size sign outside. i think the name of the place is 'barber shop'.
owner is from luxenbourg, speaks german, we converse with as little of what i remember of the language.
nice, mens den. talk of cars, motorcycles, music

Old school barber.... totally pre PC environment. Takes me back to the "good ol days"..

Nice Korean lady at Toby's Barber Shop...$14 dalla! She does a great job...even straight razers the neck & around the ears. I hand her a $20 and we are both happy.

I used to cut all of my friends hair and still cut my own even though my wife is a very well established hair dresser. Getting ready to go shave it all off right now, if I have to do anything to my hair it's to damn long!

**** Steve, NONE of Us USED TO have hair in our ears! What i hate is the leading edge nose hair.

87 year Korean war vet, still likes his job. Has a full head of hair. $11 and a tip $9.

I go to a salon that's fairly expensive I think. I pay $35 includes the tip for a haircut. I've been going there for 22 years and have had the same gal cut my hair for 21 of those years. She's Persian and nice as can be. Very philosophical which I like. I would go to a cheaper place if it wasn't for her. In fact the salon charges more for her to cut your hair - I guess it's because of her popularity. She's pretty in a wholesome sort of way. But I like the way she's cuts my hair and now I'm addicted but only go ever 8'weeks. It's not like I have hair falling in my eyes. I'm happy to have full coverage albeit sort of thin. Oh yeah she washes your hair and kind of massages your head in the process. I don't wait 8 weeks to do that part though......

Same Supercuts for the last 25+ years since the day it opened, 3 of the same ladies are still there, we talked each other through our kids going to school together! Never had a bad cut.
