Why do I need these? Convertible Door Alignment Wedges

I have installed US Car Tool subframe connectors on my 63 Fury convertible. I don't understand the need for these on my car....am I wrong? Both doors were replaced on the car and neither is drilled to mount the wedges.

No roof? Top of car still moves. I'd rather not bend my ragtop.
