Will a 74 Charger steering column fit a 72? They are both power steering cars w/o tilt.

No.

Diff firewall bracket.

Can't say about shaft lenght difference, but their configurations are way diff. MAYBE changing from end to end including the steering box coupler, the lenght could match ( never have measured ) but 74 is articulated and 72 system is not.

Are you changing from column shifter to floor shifter? If so you could use the 74 column parts to become your actual column into floor shifter.

They are both column shift and was going to keep it that way for now.

I made a '74 column fit a '73 which has the same as '71 & '72 flange. What I did was completely disassembled the cloumn to pull the flange then mounted the 73 flange to the 74 shaft. The biggest difference is that the 73 flange can be removed without disassembling the column as it bolts to column and the 74 is pressed on to an inner sleeve. The flange bearing size is the same, just mounted differently. I also had to use all the 74 steering linkage as the lengths was different. Then the coupler was hitting on the master cylinder. So I had to fix that too. In the end, I had a correct looking floor shift column when I convert the car to an manual.

The job was not hard just time consuming. I think all in all I spent four hours rebuilding the column. That not including sand blasting and paint.
