Will these wheels fit my 67 wagon?

I'm getting a set of 17 inch Stockton steel wheels for my 67 Coronet wagon.

The wheels were being run on a 68 Coronet wagon, 17x8 with 245/45/17 in front, and 17x10 with 315/35/17 in the rear. The rear wheels have a 5 inch backspacing.

I've measured and I think I'll be fine in the rear, but now it's business time and I'm not sure if I've oversized myself. I belatedly learned how much tighter 66-67 wheel wells are vs later ones.

I know I can't stuff 315s back there on this car without welding - and heck if I need them with my 318. Will I be safe with 255s (same width as the rim)? Is that my practical maximum? I originally had some 275/40s planned.

I think they will fit. On my 66 Charger I have 18X9.5 wheels with 4.75" of backspacing and 285/35/18"s. On the rear I have over an inch on either side of the wheel left in the wheel well. If I could have gotten the Craggar SS rims in 10 or 11 widths I would have gone with a 305 to start with and now beleive a 315 and possibly a 325 may fit with rolling the fender and perfect backspacing.

If your wheel openings are the same or bigger than the chargers the 315/35/17 should fit but I beleive you will need more than 5" of backspacing. Can you try the wheels on your car before you buy them?

Haha nope, they are out of production and coming from Iowa. I believe my openings are at least similar if not as big (I haven't found anything unique to the wagon's under-bits and hardware aside from some gas tank parts so far). I looked in the thread Cman linked to but I missed that 66 hardtop. I think I'll be OK. Thanks guys :)

I think your going to have some troubles. Most Coronets only run 275's on the rear without some sort of mods.
I have a '66 Charger and running 295's on 15x10 wheels with a 5" BS. Wouldn't want anything wider in there.
Chargers have a whole different wheel opening than a Coronet.

Well I was planning on 275s tops, more likely 255s now, but never 315s. I'm not reusing the tires that were on the wheels originally, that was just for comparison's sake.

The biggest i could get under my 66 plymouth and i even trimmed the inner wheel lip off some was a 275/60/15 which is whats on there now.
