Windshield washer, fluid nozzle pointing

I seem to have lost my original nozzles and when fitting my replacements, I don’t recall them being this far away from the grill above. It would complicate aiming, but maybe this is normal. It needs to get through the grill and actually hit the right spot on the windshield.

My questions are:
How far away is the nozzle from the grill below? Does the picture look like factory that is the distance from the nozzle tip to the grill.
From other threads, I also know that these things break very easily if you bend them, what’s the trick and bending the tip for final aiming?

The tip doesn't bend the metal bracket at the base bends.

You will see them at different heights on different cars of the same system. Makes me think different vendors have made the nozzles different, now we have reproductions to consider.

Thank you just to be sure are you actually saying just to shim the base rather than trying to bend anything? That would make sense to me when I marked it up, and it looks like I can change the angle in position by shimming the base of the nozzle rather than trying to bend anything and breaking it.

The factory parts bend at the flat metal at the base, it will happed as you lift or push down on the end of the nozzles.

That's why they have a notch cut in them so they will bend there
