How Do I get access to the wiper control arm? I bought the period correct wiper arms but the db that had this car before had welded a 1/4-20 stud to one side and the oposite side is factory, but seems oddly short, so I can't mount the arm to that stud.....Thinking of replacing the whole assembly now...or leave the wipers off and sell a mint set of chrome wiper arms. I'm hoping I don't have to remove the entire dash for this

You most likely have to remove a lot to get to them, as they are removed from under the dash, and it is a pain at best. The evaporator at a minimum will be in the way.

Well then, maybe I'll revert to the JB weld method lol
Thanks for the info 69Bee

If your car is non ac it's not that big a deal to pull the assembly. Is it an early b-body you're working on?

its a 64 Savoy. no heater or air as it is a pro street set up. basically built in a barn lol! dash has been bastardised to fit the roll cage.

If the dash is empty under there? sans htr. etc. It's maybe a 15 min. job to pull the complete wiper setup! Two wiper pivots, and one wiring harness to the switch, and three bolts for the wiper motor. And your done!
