Members, I am been restoring my 1968 Charger R/T and I am at the point of installing all the wiring. I am going to tackle first the forward and main engine harness, the headlight harness and windshield wiper motor harness. From my research, each of these are wrapped in black vinyl tape (1"). The issue is where on the harness does the tape begin and end. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Scott

Its not electrical tape, its this stuff: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181985559556?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
As for where it begins and ends, you'll have to look at underhood photos. Good luck!

 Thanks, I need to get me some of that stuff. Should have done it 30 years ago.

Regular electrical tape will be a gooey mess after one summer. If you're redoing the wiring you should do it right.
If you have the budget you should also consider reproduction harnesses from M&H. They're available through YearOne. I have all their harnesses under the hood of my Super Bee and will be replacing my dash harness with one of theirs.

I'm not redoing any wiring. It's just for general work. I always wondered what the factory used. Too bad it took me so long to find out.

Either way. Doing rewire or just general work. If you're working on electrical stuff, I'd use non-adhesive stuff as the link Trashdog supplied and Lionized stated. Just my .02 cents
