Whats the approximate value for a 1968 A833 out of a B body? It has sat in the weather so it has surface rust on it but when I opened it up it looked great inside.

Not sure if it actually works but I got it in a package deal with some mopar motors.

I want to use it as trade material or to sell to help fund other stuff on my car.

Any idea of approximate value?

It has a vin on it 8G then the sequence numbers the build date is may 68 and it has shift rods and shifter mounting plate. Input bearing retainer measures at 4.805 if I remember right.

Would it be worth it to take it to a tranny shot or post some detailed pics of the guys on here to see if it actually functions?

Isnt core value atleast 150??

Please advise.

not knowing condition,
I'd think $150 isn't out of reason, especially for a core,
more possibly the kits to rebuild them are more

I haven't bought an A833 in quite a few years thou now,
last one was like $400 {allot of miles} came with an Inland shifter/linkage & alum BB Bell-housing

But, prices are all over the damn place,
some people think their worth their weight in gold too

maybe try & list it on www.RacingJunk.com
I didn't see any under the Transmission & Clutch section,
you'd have a captive audience

Thanks budnicks. The local trans shop said they will have a look at it for me for $40 bucks but even then they said no guarantees. I dont blame them lol but itd be nice to know if its a worker.

Well finally off work after another 12 days 10 hour days. Anyway I got time to pull the side cover and look around. No shavings no worn teeth goes in an out of gear great. Spins nice no noise. Few questions. First is the marks on the gear in yellow something the factory would have put on there? Also would or did they use rtv between of the tail shaft housing and main body?

Looks good inside, for beeing subject to allot of water

Sorry I'm not enough of an expert to say if that's factory or not,
I'd suspect the yellow mark on the gears are,
BUT; I think {don't quote me on either}
there was a paper gasket between the tail-shaft housing & the main body from the factory...

maybe someone else will know for a fact

call Brewers or Passon Performance they'd know for sure

Thanks bud nicks. It has not been subject to water when I say it has surface rust from sitting in the Weather I mean in a carport just not covered with anything. It's actually cleaning up well and I'm learning so much about these as I research. I'll end up taking it to a trans shop to 100% verify but right now I may end up using it.

good luck, thanks for a clarification

Budnicks is correct. There was a paper gasket between the tail-shaft housing & the main body from the factory. Don't be afraid to dive in and have a crack at this yourself. I just got done over hauling mine about 2mo ago. Follow the service manual step for step and have Brewers phone# handy and you will do just fine.
