Woman drives 900 miles out of her way

I don't know what to make of this.

You live in Belgium. You need to drive somewhere in Belgium. It's not that big. How out of it are you if you cross a border, the signs are in a different language, and you keep driving?

And how did this become news? If I managed to do something this stupid (I've done my share, but nothing close to this) I certainly wouldn't spread it around that I'm the biggest moron in Europe.

Love it, that's why I won't let my drivers use one. Most likely, she set it wrong. Ever see how may idiots blindly follow them? Sometimes it results in a bad accident/death.

Setting it wrong is one thing, but 90 miles compared to 900 miles! Just how far would someone drive until they figure out somethings wrong, gas stations, something as simple as a country store hearing someone speak and not understand signs and language.. Thats one for the books, maybe she has some health/mind issue, its hard to believe it took 900 miles, a slight accident and doesn't know somethings not right.. Im afraid my sister and I are going to need to make arrangement's so our mom can drive anymore, shes 76 and my wife found her on the floor over a week ago and shes been in the hospital since, we found out she has a infection around the brain (Encephalitis) Shes been caught driving up Rt 322 in the wrong lane, minor accidents she doesn't remember, if it comes to this its going to be a tuff love thing, shes going to feel betrayed and for her own sake and others, something has to be done because this memory loss and confusion is sounding like its a permanent thing. In reality i can see this woman doing this if she has a similar problem..
