I have a 69 Charger r/t.....I'm redoing the dash this year and pulled the radio, I believe someone attempted to install an A track out of a 68 Monarch as the Chrysler code reads 2884044. Anyways I NEED a new/used radio that fits. Not sure if radio's differed back then but I was told if your charger came with an A track you had two speakers in your dash. My car only one speaker in the centre so I believe I am looking for a regular radio.

Any suggestion I'm open to as well. I am trying to keep it original and have heard there are many hidden look a like radio with the guts changed. If you know a site or a company that sells repro's please let me know.

Thanks,

Al

I have some original radios if you are interested. If you are really wanting modern performance just do some Google searching but I wouldn't be surprised if a few suggestions turn up quite soon on modernized muscle car radios

curious question -
is there a way to know for sure if the radio was the original one by the serial numbers and to cross check in some book? I am not tracking when you reference an "A Track", what is that?
I also have a 1969 Charger, but I thought there was only one type of radio in production for that year.
I know that there are fewer places that are willing to refurbish these types of radios, a steady incline for ones that are new and updated. I opted for a new one from www.radiosforoldcars.com from Antique Automobile Radio. I should have waited until I was ready to install it, now the warranty has expired, chalk it up to inexperience.

Thanks for your patience

He meant 8 Track. You could get AM mono, AM 8 Track stereo, and AM/FM mono
