If you are leaving in the original 73 rubber isolated mounts you need a 73-74 b body rear end since they have a large hole in the spring perch where older ones only have a small hole and go right on the spring
I actually bought one of these housings, just to get the shock plates.
IIRC you can weld a thick washer in the ISO plate, to take up the difference and fit the non-ISO housing.
This would eliminate the ISO-COMP. (help me if I'm wrong here)
If you're that concerned about the +-3/4 stretch, you could always put perches with larger holes on when you relocate them, and keep the ISO-COMP rubber.
I personally would rather have 66-72 handling, and sure do miss that on my 73.
