Got back sat evening from a week's vacation in Yellowstone NP. What a beautiful place to visit, I can see why Pres. Teddy Roosevelt fell in love with this place. Amazing sites & smells, LOL.

We also ventured off to Virginia City to have a drink at the Bale of Hay Saloon (https://www.baleofhaysaloon.com/) which was pretty cool. My wife & I had visited another Virginia City in Nevada on our honeymoon. Loved that place as well as the Bucket of Blood Saloon (https://bucketofbloodsaloon.com/).

In addition to visiting the park we also white water rafted on class 2 & 3 rapids for 10 miles (2 hrs). Water was 47*, so glad we had dry suits & boot on, BURR!

If you ever get a chance to visit this place you won't be disappointed.

Wow. Nice. Been there. You are correct. God Bless the USA.

Pet any bears?:D When we were could tell where the bears were, just looked for parked cars. We didn't see any grizzlies but the rangers had hands near their guns with the black bears. Seen enough of them in my yard.
Bryce Canyon another nice place but make reservations.

Yellowstone is awesome. Worked in the Forest Services 3 years out there. Our station was in Cook City out of the Northeast entrance. Thanks for the pics.

Nope. We only saw 3 Black bears in the wild. 2 were way off in the distance & 1 was walking on the road by the Roosevelt Lodge. We did keep an eye out for people parked on the road as that was a dead give away something was around.

That must have been a really cool job! We did pretty much the entire park except the eastern side.

Been to Yellowstone a couple of times. Spectacular place. Even better w/o the people. Used to live in Colorado and I love the mountains and rivers of the West. CA doesn’t compare - mostly because there’s just too damn many people out here. The Rockies reign supreme!

Thanks for the pictures! Just for curiosity, did you go on a guided tour or just wing it?

Irony, the most beautiful place on earth sits atop the possible largest magma chamber.
Its about 100,000 years overdue for a massive eruption.

Thanks Justin, we had a great time & was nice to see another part of our beautiful country! On a side note got an email while on vacation for an interview. Spoke to the owner yesterday & we're meeting on Thurs or Friday. Looks promising, wish me luck!

You're quite welcome Mark! We did it on our own but had help from the Bar N Ranch, where we stayed to set things up (https://bar-n-ranch.com/?msclkid=c658f2a5113911105a72af88d193e8c3). My wife looked into Disney Vacations who stays at the same place but their prices were thru the roof. We copied what Disney did but saved a ton of money by doing it this way. The Bar N ranch was extremely helpful & a beautiful place to stay.
