Hope no one here lives in the Austin areas. A friend of mine lives in Kerrville but is on high ground. The Guadeloupe River water level went up more than 26' in less than an hour! My thoughts and prayer go out to the ones that were caught in it. I also find it odd that the area doesn't have an early warning system to alert campers etc.

Amazing you can get that much rain in an hour, heart goes out to all involved :praying:

We have a grandson in San Antonio.
They have been lucky and missed the flooding there.
Prayers for those missing.

Flooding is terrible enough, but hearing about all those little kids at summer camp missing and presumably swept away by the floods is heartbreaking.

You'd think the camp would have an weather radio and a safety plan.

Prayers for all involved.
Well, they probably didn't know initially 5" of possible rain in an upstream area would affect them like it did and once the other alerts were issued, it was night time and most were asleep. Also, several of the camps along that river have been there since the 1920's so there's that.

Death total is up to 27 I believe, breaks my heart. Those families will never recover from this.

I know there's over 50.....but according to Boogle......
Kerr County: 59 deaths, including 38 adults and 21 children, according to the Kerr County Sheriff.
Travis County: 4 deaths.
Burnet County: 3 deaths.
Kendall County: 1 death.
Tom Green County: 1 death.
Williamson County: 1 death.
Camp Mystic: 11 campers and 1 counselor are still missing.

Sad news, prayers for all affected. Hopefully more survivors will be found.
That is such a beautiful area. My daughter was married not far from there a couple years ago.

Sad stuff, was watching the other day
the girls camp is really sad, 22 of the 59 know missing or dead, in one area

like 80 people known missing or dead, now

My deepest condolences goes out to the people there

7"s of rain fell, in less than an hr at one point
nowhere for all the debris & water to go, swept places off their foundations
or crash in by debris/whole trees & houses
