Messing around with the new drone... Decided to see if it could follow the Charger around. Gotta say, it looks pretty cool.

Update: I really don’t want to use any kind of sealant but it looks like it’s going that way. A friend suggested using a cork and my felpro gasket together. So I put the cork on first, then the felpro, then the valve cover. It’s still leaking. Not AS much but when I touch the back of the head I...
What a busy weekend, I had some time to pull the covers and see what’s going on. The gaskets were dry except for around where the bolts go on the last 1/3 of the head - towards the rear of the motor. I checked the level of my valve covers with a straight edge and they were fine. I checked the...
Wow lots of replies ! Thank you everyone for your advice, I truly truly appreciate it. I’ll let you know what happens next weekend if I get some time to work on it. I’ll be ordering some parts $$$&&
1970 charger with a 383. I’ve taken the valve covers on and off and changed gaskets about 6 times now and I’m looking for this next time to be the last.
both valve covers were leaking from the rear of the block by the firewall so I pulled them off and replaced them with the cork gasket. That...
Good info. I’ll be bringing it down a bit and seeing if that changes anything. I don’t like it bouncing off the high end of the gauge. I’m using 10w30. I thought about going to a 5w30
Got it, thanks. Just the help I needed. I just want to bring it down a little bit. When it’s cold and I’m under throttle it bounces off 100 psi. I don’t like that
My understanding was it fits on the stock oil pump. Which I have. This is the adjustable part that replaces the spring: http://store.440source.com/Adjustable-Oil-Pressure-Regulator/productinfo/200-1093/
maybe I’m just looking at the oil pump wrong I just can’t figure out where the spring goes
I have a 383 in my 70 charger. It’s a little ratty but hey it runs! Cold idle is about 85 PSI on a brand new mechanical gauge. Once it gets warm, idle is about 40psi which I’m fine with. Anything over 2000 rpm it jumps back to 80. I bought a oil pressure regulator from the 440 source. Does...
Volts, its part of a 3-pod autometer setup I put in the car (water temp, voltage, and oil pressure). Haven't tested anything with an electrical tester yet.
Ha ha! This picture was actually from the day I first saw the car and pulled it out of the guys back yard ... it doesn't look much better today but it is a little cleaner ha ha. Thanks for the info guys, I'll do that this weekend if it doesn't rain. California actually got some rain for once
Got the adjustable oil pressure regulator from 440 source, along with a 6-pack 6-quart reproduction oil pan and new pickup. Ordered the nylon windage tray/gasket from summit racing and some fresh 10w30 oil too. Hopefully this weekend I can throw those on there and see if that helps anything...
1970 Charger with 383. Wiring is in OK shape but never given me this issue before. Only thing I did differently before this issue popped up was drove over some rough roads and surfaces.
Got it home and went to start it a little later and the key went to start and voltmeter dropped to 0 but...
Ha ! good one
Lots of good info here thank you gentlemen. That $89 pan from 440 source looks great, I think I'm going to go that route. I was considering a windage tray but the motor has run this long without one might be best to leave it as is.
My super modified 383 that looks like it was used as a boat anchor? Haha... she's not pretty but she runs good. I'm going to try and get in touch with the guy who "built" the motor and see what he says about it. Last I talked to him he didn't say much other than it has a mildly more aggressive...
