steering pump

how can i tell if i have a saginaw pump? mine looks like the ones that are on the generic motors vehicles. i want to use bouchillon chrome brackets it says for saginaw but i wanna get a chrome pump also but all i can find is for gm would it be the same?

Federal pump has a tapped hole in the end of the pump shaft.
TRW/Thompson pump has a hex-shaped hole or no hole in the end of the pump shaft.
Federal pump uses a reservoir cap with "ears" much like a radiator cap.
TRW/Thompson pump uses a reservoir cap that is round and may have vertical serrations but no "ears".
NOTE:* Federal pump reservoir cap will fit on a TRW/Thompson pump.

That pump picture is one of my cars, I posted it on a pump topic in the past, and its a federal with no tapped hole at the pump shaft. Trw's have Trw cast in the pump right at the pressure port.
That picture is a late 68 pump in case you wanted to know.

thanks mine dont look like that i believe mine came off a later model what im tryin to come up with is that bouchillon has chrome brackets for a saginaw pump, and they do mopar stuff i was just tryin figure it out if those brackets would fit mine, and if they are the same as a gm product

Don't know that site, but I edited and posted that pic on Moparts a few years back for member hemi68charger to reference. I also posted that same pic here last year for a member. Without a doubt my car though.

tried all over net,which g.m unit is compatable??buy from summit or jegs??

mine is the jegs brand saginaw pump for g.m. had no problems hookin it up and looks great
