Im puting together my 67 440hp for my 66convert.I have never put anything back together stock and need some help desiding on some parts..the motor is a true 10to1 I did pocket port and gasket match the heads..and took 10 off to true them up.I will use the thickest head gasket I can get.anyways I what a cam (hy)that will run good sound good and one I can drive anywere.yes I whant both worlds..I was thinking the bigest hemi grind ?? what do yall think.and for a TQ cunverter I was thinking of something like a stock 340 converter?? I think behind a bigblock they stull around 2300.??? And im also kinda lost on a carb.ther I was thinking an 780 to 850 vac, sec.unless yall think a new EDDIE would work.(SIZE??)thanks for any help I know you guys will tell It like it is and I like that.....Artie or am I going about this all wrong?????

284/484 Purple shaft is a decent cam for soundand performance. My buddy has that one with a 2400 stall Mopar convertor and it runs 12.75 all day long in a 64 Dodge 330. Very Streetable too. You'll find that Purple shaft cams have an idle like no other. I have a comp XE 274 in my 400 now. Seems to work good. My convertor stalls at 2600 or so, so it's not ignorant on the street. I personally like mechanical secondaries but no matter, 750 if it's jetted and tuned should work with your combo.

thanks for your input, I have had good luck with the mopar cams. but I have read that there has been sum bad ones coming out of the country.I dont know why they cant leve things alone....Artie

If you decide on the 284 purple cam I have that cam and lifter set, unused. Went to a Comp mutha thumpr so don`t need. $100 plus ship cost.

I'm running the MoPar .455 "/ 272 in a 10.1:1 440 and a TCI 11" street converter. I think it says approx 1000 RPM over factory stall speed - whatever that is. The combo seems to work great with a 750 AFB and a factory iron intake. Car runs 13.30's at 109 on street tires and 3.55 gears.
