I am trying to decide the best way to add A/C to a non-A/C '71 Charger.

Looking at the companies that make kits, B-Bodies didn't exist past 1070. :)

Has anyone pieced an aftermarket kit together? What is different between the controls of the A, B, and E bodys? They make kits for A's and E's....

Factory A/C cars had a different dash, didn't they? Or are the vents under the dash like my Dart??

Call Classic Auto Air they will have a complete setup for you. They had a easy to install complete AC system for a 1974 Satellite 4 door with a 225 six cylinder. I got the whole thing for under $1600 bucks.

You know what? I never saw that hidden behind the E-body listing. I wondered why it wouldn't be the same from '71-'74.

Thanks for pointing that out!!!

I've definitely reached the age where I want A/C in my Charger. It's nice to see that someone's used their kit on a '71-'74 B-body.

Looking at Classic Auto Air's installation instructions, they're targetted to E-bodies and cable-operated temperature controls. Anyone put one of these kits into a vacuum operated system like the '71s?
