Im thinking of buying a dash cap for the roadrunner. Do they look good on?

Haven't done one, but have seen a few. From what I have read, most people have trouble with the passenger side dash trim. You have to remove it, but the problem is getting the screws back in. Use rolls of toilet paper around the windshield to hold the front edges down when the glue is setting.

As stated above, it is a pain to get the passenger trim to fit right after installing the cap. The glue so far has done alright. I have attached pics of what my looks like on my 72 Road Runner. Expect to pull your hair out. It also didn't fit perfect around the driver's side bezel. There is a gap on mine where it wasn't molded right. You can't tell unless you run your hand up under it. Hope this helps.

just pulled the cap off my 73 and replaced the whole pad, the cap was on when I bought it and looked and fit like s&@t the speaker cover wouldnt go flat and there were gaps. plus it to had cracked in a different spot. I shopped around and found a repro, fiberglass frame but vinyl wraped, not molded for 400.00 shipped, spent aboout 3 hours changing it and while I had the panel out changed all the dim bulbs and I am very glad i did. spend the time and a few extra clams and do it the right way you will be happy

Remove the dash pad?
It gets glued to the existing pad. You'll see when you get it. It is thin and hardly weighs anything. Like I said, I never installed one and RRGTX72 can correct me, but I would think if your pad is in really bad shape(puffed up at the cracks) you might use duct tape to level off the high spots, otherwise your glue will only stick in spots.

Yeah mine was all cracked up, and brittle so I trimmed the high spots with a razor blade and then glued it down. I placed heavy books on top of it as well as tying nylon string around it until it bonded. We will see how well it holds up. It is really thin and flimsy so be careful. Good luck with it.

So it would be alot easier to do with the pad off?

No, install it with the pad in. When you receive yours, lay it over your pad. Note the lip on the passenger side trim opening. It has to go behind the trim piece, so that needs to be removed.
