I have a 67 Coronet R/T

I want to lift the rear of the car a couple of inches.
Any suggestions on how and which leafs to use??

Just add a leaf to your current spring pack. Get an old set of springs, take them apart and take the main leaf out, cut off the eyelets and install it in your current leaf pack between the main and second leaf.

Throw some calvert bars on it, I did that on my roadrunner and it came up that much when the pre load is set up. But it is a little more on the pricy side.

Tires will lift your car, but remember that will change your engine rpm-per mile per hour as well as throw off you speedometer reading (you'll need a different speedo gear in the tranny to be accurate again) The Mopar XHD springs will raise your car about an inch (so they advertise)

I shall soon find out as I have a pair on the garage floor waiting to be installed. Getting the old ones off was a hell of a workout as the bolts fought me every turn of the way. Even broke one of the U-bolts right off. LOL they were smoking from the liquid wrench and the heat being generated.
My suggestion for anyone removing these in the future, start putting penetrating oil on the U-bolts a few days ahead of the project to soften up the debris on the bolts. Course you could always use an air impact, but what fun would that be?

U bolts aren't real expensive. If I have some that want to fight...out comes the cut-off wheel.

I always try to reason with them first, but that almost never works.

Just got the car down and I'm not buying that. I see no difference, however, the ride is SWEET!! I'm not rubbing anywhere so I think I am set in the rear.

What's not to buy? It is simple logic and math. If you have two wheels, one 14" and one 15" isn't the 15" 1/2" larger in diameter? Just check the tire rack caculator for tire sizes and see what the differences are in the overall tire height.

Yes, it DOES make a difference in your speedometer as well. In fact, you can actually create the same effect with smaller/larger tire sizes as you can by changing rear end gears. The smaller the tire diameter the lower the gear ratio and vise versa.

I was referring to the springs raising the car. And it DIDN'T make a difference. If you had read through the whole thread (something you quite often accuse others of not doing) you would have seen that I was putting on new springs

On my Numbers correct 68 Roadrunner , I took them to a local heavy truck spring shop and had them re-arched after I took measurements beforehand. I had 2 inches more arch put in. Then I dissasembled them and powder coated them in the correct color. Reassembled with new hardware. Obviuosly I did all this because they are original to the car. Just one more way to solve the problem. Hope that helps someone.

I DID read the entire thread and you had some good suggestion to raise your car. The springs are the way to go to get the job done by either re-arching your originals OR buy the RIGHT springs,as in Espo's not Mopar Performance which are crap springs these days.

My comments where regarding yours back to Propwash's on the tire size which he was correct on (although it does not make a big difference unless you make a substantial wheel/tire size change. The point was that you were not buying it.

For your information I don't comment on threads that I haven't read entirely.

The last sentence of Prop's post was in regard to the XHD springs raising the rear of the car. THAT is what I was not buying, As I just installed them on my car and IT DID NOT raise the rear of my car.

What brand XHD springs did you buy?

Ok, 696 pack, I'm not sure what you are not seeing. You said that you read all the entire posts before you comment. So i will go back through it all and lay it out for you.

My reaction was: HUH???????

OK, I think I answered your question and it is clear that I never questioned Prop's correct statement about wheel size which you seemed to think I did. Never referenced it once.
I have the crap Mopar springs on my car. Your words.

Hope we are on the same page now.

Back to the original subject of the post.

Yes, The MOPAR PERFORMANCE XHD springs ARE crap.

Sorry you did not recsearch this BEFORE buying them unless they came with the car or from some other source. This has been commented on in other posts and no one has been happy with these springs. As stated previously, Espo makes GOOD after market springs that people are satisfied with.
