Anyone going to Sacramento Raceway Sept 11th Mopar Magic Race, swap meet & show ? , I'm kind of broke right now, but thinking of at least going to socialize or watch, maybe meet some new people from the forum...
Ill probably go, I wont take the Stocker since the track sucks there. I will go though, and probably bring the 64' Dodge and buy swap meet stuff. Thats unless it falls on one of the big NHRA races I have to go to.

im going to try to fit it in. But have a busy weekend planned for the 10th and 11th. not sure if I can make it.
Hi Bart. I'm making plans to be there. Not to race, I'll show the Road Runner, and be a spectator the rest of the day.
I hope to also attend the Kingdon nostalgia races in Lodi on the Saturday before. Kingdon will have 2 days of racing and one day of a show. It should be a very nice doubleheader.
See you there, Dan.
I will probably be there. The car won't be finished this year so I will just be watching everyone else.....
Hey Randy , being born & raised in Cali, I probably saw you & the Purple beast at the many tracks I frequented with my step father in the early days 1965-73ish, before I got my license & own cars, then I was out terrorizing the Cruise in Walnut Creek Modesto, Sacto. Sunrise Mall & J Street cruise 74-77... Yep those were the great old days, too bad your not closer to be able to make it, we probably covered the same turf many times... Happy Moparing back there in Michigan.I'ld love to be there but the trip from Michigan just isn't in the cards right now. Was in the Air Force '67-'71 and stationed in Sacramento. Civilian buddy and I used to race his Plum Crazy '70 R/T 440 4spd at the Sacto strip on Saturdays against all the Chevelles, Torinos, Mustangs, etc. We'ld walk the strip with the promoter prior to opening and pick up the broken pieces of Roddy's clutch parts among other things.
We ran pure stock as the car was his wife's daily driver (when he let her that is) and had to change out the plugs each week and/or terrorize the Marconi Ave. locals to blow out the carbon from her conservative driving style and slow speeds. You could take a passenger ("co-driver") back then so I'ld go with on a run or two listening for spark knock from our "power tuning" efforts. The wives complained about our never taking them once too often so we took them to the Sacto track and had them "co-drive" a couple flat out runs against other cars. Worked like a charm - they never asked to go again!!!!
Then when the big boys came to Orange Cty we'ld head down there Sunday to watch some serious thrashing by The Snake, The Mongoose, Chi Town Hustler, The Hawaiian, etc. Ahhh, the good old days.
You guys enjoy and inhale some of that hi-test exhaust and fried tires for me. I'll be there in spirit!
Randy C.
