What do you think of my new dash scheme? I matched what i have underhood, but im on the verge of repainting it, i think it might be a little gaudy. fwiw you should have seen what i started with, the previous owner got a little happy with a jigsaw. Opinions please!

Yeah man....It,s cool to be different!!!!

You did a great job - It may be missing a little plastic chrome maybe around the perimiter but still looks great

I say keep it. It's got win rubbed all over it and it's only yours. I can't say I've seen that combo anywhere else.

cool thanks guys, looks like ill keep it! i was unsure about it, usually the painted dashes look like they go in hondas but i think this is just enough. the previous owner tried his best to recreate the fake chrome with some silver paint, didnt work out so well. With that and the giant gaping hole that he cut in an original A/C cluster for a radio (not real pleased with that) it looked like crap.

i lovvvvvvvvvve it. KEEP IT !...dare to be different i always say.......well...i always say alot of things but we wont get into that (lol) . i am eventually going to re-do my 70 RR dash. as it sits theres no " chrome or silver"...(whatever the color is) around the gauges , speedo ,tic toc tach. its all just plain Jaine black.(pix in my gallery). what do you guys recommend to "deluxxe" it up and add the accents??

Interesting.

I usually don't like that kind of stuff, but I kinda' like that.

I was undecided on a secondary color for a long time, my car is blacked out, only chrome left on the car is the door handles, drip rail, and a small piece of trim on rockers. everything else is painted black-mirror, bumpers, front trim, and everything else thats chrome has been shaved. When I built the motor I didnt want to go all black and chrome (its been done too many times) so I picked out the only other color on the car, red (taillights and grille emblem). All depends on what color you like, I just reccomend keep it simple and go with something that doesn't clash with the rest or the car.....

i meant what to use to add the accents around the gauges. like a silver paint pen or hand brushed paint.. something like that .

I taped mine off and used a rattle can, the ceramic based engine paint is really tough stuff

What's the deal with that second pic? Where did the radio area go?...and the lock button, and the vertical chrome part? ...and shouldn't the glove box be less recessed? (I see the 440 emblem is gone, but that's more obvious.)

Thats just the drivers side of the dash, I cut up a junk glove box door to make a patch panel for the radio area, prev owner cut a huge hole for a new cd player, it didnt jive with me. the patch sticks out in that picture but once its inthe car you can't really notice it. the glove box is still there check out the first pic. And the vert chrome piece is painted plastic, its on the end of the gauge cluster, it got taped off and painted red.
