Hello everyone
This is a cool site!
I bought this satallite station wagon a couple of years ago as a project car. Unfortunatly up till a few months ago it has just sat, but i have recently been working on it and am excited to get it going.
My grandparnts were the orignial owners of a 1969 plymouth road runner convertable so i have grown up with that body style.
Unfortunatly it isnt in the budget to get a RR, but i happened accross this wagon and thought it would be a cool family car to go to the mopar shows in. I have two young sons 3+4 and they just cant wait to ride in it.
I bought some 15x7 steel wheels im going to replace the 14x5.5 ones with and im going to try to get one more plymouth division dog dish hubcap for my set of three to finish it with.
It is a 318 car with ac and a factory towing package. I belive it was originally a PS car but has been converted to manual steering... in the future i think i will put the ps back, i have found all the components i need already.
Im kinda new to owning b bodies other then the 72 satallite which was my first car, but have owned a hand full of A and E bodies.
This wagon was found on a farm or in a field somewhere and was purchased for parts from the guy i bought it from... he decided not to bother with it and sold it off as a whole. I just recently removed most of the carpeting as it had animal hair and rat droppings on it.... Im going to pull the seats and look for any nests or other remnants of the pests. the seats will need to be re done anyways!
I had the tank cleaned and lined as it was full of rust and the gas was bad. I ran all new gas lines, replaced the fuel filter, rebuilt the carb, and changed the oil. its ready to start once i get the locking gas cap off that unfortunalty the key that was given to me for it doesnt work.
When i first bought it, it started up and ran but very rich. After i got it home i was never able to start it again... Im hoping it was from the bad gas. the choke pull off was bad so thats why it was running so rich. the plugs were all fouled, i found the oil reaked of gasoline. Im hoping it was from the choke being stuck on and not bad rings.
The torkflite transmission was leaking severly when i first got it home but has stopped... im sure its low or out of fluid by now. :grin: but that will come later.
I need to get someone to disassemble the tailgate and get the latches and power window working again. I dont think i have the time or patience to tackle that project! maybe after i get it running ill start looking for a body shop. I tryed looking for someone on craigslist and via the station wagon group on yahoo groups but have had no luck.

its fun to see everyones mopars, gives me more motivation to work on mine.
If anyone has places in the bay area the recommend for work please let me know.... ill prolly need everything before im done. :black_eye:
