Hi gang, my name's Ted and I just joined this site today in anticipation of my new toy that's arriving soon ( it's in a covered wagon transporter on it's way here from North Carolina). I was registered to For A-Bodies Only while helping my son with his Duster project and got the Dodge fever again. I sold my restored 1968 Dart GTS 383 4 spd car five years ago and have been Moparless since.
Well that's all changed now. As I saw my retirement savings dwindle away at the hands of the finacially irresponsible investment banks and such, I grew angry and felt the need to do something about it. I wasn't in the market for another muscle car, but when I saw this beautifully restored 1969 Coronet R/T I had to buy it! I cashed out most of my IRA to buy this car outright, and I didn't look back nor regret the decision. It's a 440 powered 4 spd car with console, ramcharger hood, side scoops and vinyl top. The color is butter cup yellow with black stripe, roof and interior. I'm weird, I like this color on this car.
I have a real love of the '69 Coronet body style, and I really like the 1969 model year the most for most Mopars. I'm 48 years old and had a bunch of these cars in the late '70's thru the 80's, but marriage, kids and stuff take priority and the cars went away. The weather here in San Jose is great for classic cars and I can't wait to get my car this week and drive her around and hit the local weekly Wed. car show. I'll feel like I did in my 69 Super Bee back in '79...........Woo Hoo!
I'll keep ya'll posted after I get my car this week.
