I put my dash cap in last night. I followed all the instructions to the letter and it looks great, but there's one thing the instructions didn't mention... the fumes!

I don't know what's in that silicone adhesive but whew... it was getting hard to breathe in the car once you start spreading that stuff around, and even this morning when I opened the door it felt like I was getting punched in the nose. :)

I hope that smell doesn't stay long.

It doesn't last. Leave the windows down for a few days.
I made the mistake of installing my cap while I had the dash assy out. Put the dash assy back in the car and now I have to pull the windshield to get the speaker grill back in. Not a big deal on this car cause I want a nicer windshield. Just haven't got to it yet.

That stuff does smell but it doesn't last long, glad it went on good the biggest thing i was told id weight it down good, im happy with mine.
moparmarks Yours looks sweet!

It's SURE not as bad as wrinkle finish paint. I redid the seat backs on the 71 with it to save some semblance of grain. After 2 months I still had the smell of wrinkle finish paint inside the car
