Snow in NC

When I was at Camp LeJune in 73 we got 21" of the white stuff, could not go anywhere for a week.

UP here in Buffalo we have only got a dusting so far this year. But i expect were in for a big storm soon.

Snow

I woke up to about an inch. It has been pretty steady all day. Last check was about 8" here in Hendersonville. If the ground wasnt so wet i'd bet we'd have about 12" by now. The big dodge just cruises in this. But theres a bunch of idioits in little sports cars sliding everywhere. If i get out in the scrambler or renegade i'll get some pics.

Everyone here talks about the blizard of 93 which i missed while still at NCState. But i remember 60" on top of pisgah in May of 92. Everyone from wnc went to the pisgah inn and had a great snowball fight

14 to 16" on the ground from that storm a week ago.Looks like maybe another big one cruising through christmas eve through christmas day.

Sorry to be mean, but us yankees just about pee ourselves when we watch the videos of Texans when it snows or ices-up there! Funny stuff! I got my Ram 4x4 high-sided in my own driveway last year. But I'm sure I cant hold a candle to our Canadian brothers and their stories.

Sorry to be mean, but us yankees just about pee ourselves when we watch the videos of Texans when it snows or ices-up there! Funny stuff! I got my Ram 4x4 high-sided in my own driveway last year. But I'm sure I cant hold a candle to our Canadian brothers and their stories.

If we ever got as much snow as you Guys get we would be down for the count.:rolling: I was born and raised in South Carolina, and most, not all, but most Southerners don't realize you have to slow down in snow and ice. It is kind of funny to watch people try to run 55 plus on a 1/2 of ice ! :rolling: It helps keep our local body shops in business.

It's also fun to watch them go into a nice long slide when they can't make their turn. Last big snow in SC I remember happen when I was 17 back in 79 I made it where most couldn't make a small hill. :rolling:

No rain or snow so far today in north-west, Indiana. Only a dusting last week. Looks like we may get hit pretty good Christmas eve into Christmas Day.

Snow is fun, but the ice sucks. Enjoy boys! I was in the army and we got 6" at Ft. Gordon, GA and the whole place shutdown! HaHa!

One of the advantages of growing up in Chicago, is you learn how to slide a car around in da snow!!! :grin: over the years i've learned AWD is a BEAUTIFUL thing!!! :rolling: power sliding in a little snow is quite fun when all of them are spinning :HappyNewYear: My resolution is not to crack up da beemer!!! :tongueflap:

A lot of the driving problems in the winter in Texas are caused by all the "new" Texans. Seems they think they can drive on black ice the same as the "snow back home". It don't work that way.

As far as the current conditions in N.C. goes, I'm missing it all. I'm hanging out at Myrtle Beach. Rained FOUR INCHES yesterday!! Will be returning to Greensboro on Sunday.

Myrtle Beach is a great place to hang out, ......Yeah, I clear roads for ya, but it looks like the suns gonna beat me to it, ...Carolina snow is here today and gone tomorrow , it never last.
