I'm going to look at a 77 Charger SE with a 318. Can anyone tell me what to look for?

Late B body items to look for;

Starting at the rear bumper;

Excessive rust behind the rear bumper
Those leaf spring Uplates that the leaf spring goes into.
Trans cross member mounting points, rust issues sometimes.
K-frame, rear mounts. If the car is selling for a high price, as in not a few hundred for a parts car, but a good looking car with a high price tag, demand the car be lifted for the following items;

Rust in the inner frame rails from under the battery tray to the most rearward point on each side.

AND

Unbolt the rear two (1 at a time) bolts that hold the K frame to the sub frame. This is the area the K frame rots out. The flat surface and rubber ISO mount buscuits haolf water and rust out the K frame.

Unless you can weld or like thrwing money at the problem to fix it, these two areas should be a deal killer or reduce the car to parts car staus.

Also trunk and passenger floor area. Water gets in, but can't get out.

These 4 spots are best veiwed with the car in the air. Demand it.
