Off to the body shop

Here are some pix of my 72 Sat as she looked last week. Sent her off to the body shop to take care of the assortment of dings, gouges, mishaps, etc... that she endured over the years. Solid 318 car that spent most of her life in Arkansas. The surface rust on the trunk floor is the only rust I need to address. This was a vinyl roof car, and it ain't gonna be no more, so the body guy will also be filling the seams that connect roof to a and c pillars. Mopar didn't bother filling those seams on vinyl roof cars back in the day. I have posted pix of one c pillar before and after the fix, and an a pillar almost fixed. Should be ready for paint in a few more days.:woohoo:This car has a bright blue interior, so I am leaning toward a blue metallic similar to B5 blue. Anyone got other ideas? I won't be doing black- too hot! An oven belongs in the kitchen, not on the streets!:penguins paint pixi

I vote B5. Love B5 with blue int. Almost the same color. Takes "monochrome" to a new level. Mopar didn't do a fabulous job on some non-vinyl top roof seams either.

How about silver? You see silver with red, but not silver with blue. looks good, just don't see it.

Wow, that's an awfully high quarter seam. Might be evidence in the "are the 71-72 the same as 73-74" and " are the Dodge and Plymouth the same" debate.

We are definitely on the same wavelength about the silver. I've been thinking about putting a silver strobe stripe on the car and painting the broadcast panels on the hood silver. Blue w/ silver accent is probably my #1 choice. Either blue/silver or silver with black strobe stripe and hood trim are my current thoughts. Maybe there is a steely shade of blue that will sort of split the difference. The color of the car posted by 72roadrunnergtx on page1 of this thread is a possibility, and a color you definitely don't see much. Nothing like a trip to the Nationals in Columbus next week to help me make up my mind!
I originally thought the qp's were probably replaced somewhere along the way, but my body guy says no way. Although it has seen a few dents and gouges in it's lifetime, he tells me it is original welding on everything he has seen. No patches or rust perforation on this car anywhere.

Now THATS what I'm talkin about!! I was interested on the flat-black stripes on a black 74. I think that is now the route. Thank you!

Nope its not the original color or original engine. It was a factory 340 car, and it was originally green. I wish I had the original 340, if I keep it long enough I might paint it back the factory green. Its a pretty rare car, with it being a 340/4-speed, and it was a stripe-delete car also.

Awesume Raylle!

It's got almost all the goodies one would want on that car! Ram charger hood, front spoiler. Plus, it's a 4sp, too...
