I need to pull the entire dash in order to paint it. Everything else is stripped at the moment and I'm wondering if there are any tricks to removing it that I need to be aware of.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

After pulling off the levers and unplugging all of the wires and speedometer cable ..... just 4 screws!

No wait, you probably mean the entire steel dash??? Can't help you there....

Is your windshield out? There are five (?) screws right under the windshield that are buried, some say you can get to them with the windshield in and others say you can't. I've never tried to pull or install the dash with it in so I can't tell you my opinion.

Here is a shot of my 64 for your reference, should be similar

Have you dropped the steering colum?

Please take lotso pictures on this,I plan on doing this next winter:eusa_angel:

Definately no need to remove the windshield on a 1963.... the 5 screws along the bottom of the windshield are easy on a 1963. 2 bolts on the sides, steering column, some brackets (or just one in the middle, can't remember).... remove gauge cluster and speaker grille, you should be able to see them. Done this to 2 Plymouths just recently.

You DO NOT need to pull the windshield on a 63 unless the S/W is different than my Fury Convertible. Pull gauge cluster, disconnect speedo and all switches, remove trim from around interior of windshield, drop the steering column and column braces. There are 5 small hex head screws that you can get to with a nut driver at the windshield base. There is one 5/16" bolt on each side at the bottom left and right kick panel area. Just loosen these. The dash will pivot back toward you on these two bolts. Then just lift it out. No problem.

Ah! I stand corrected fellahs... an learned something!

Btw, removing a windshield to take the dash out - stupid design! Ma Mopar obviously didn't want us monkeying with these things!

Great info here guys...thanks

Everything but the dash is out and soon to be coming home from the paint shop.

Now the dash looks like sh*t with all the other fresh paint and needs to be addressed.

I have all the other interior trim ready for paint....the dash is the last piece.
