Factory style alternator bracket for sale

BRAND NEW REPRODUCTION 100% USA made factory style alternator bracket set. These come in a powder coated gloss black finish. They have all the curves and holes exactly like the factory ones did. They are even stamped with "TOP" to easily show the orientation of the main bracket, just like the original factory ones were. These fit all years and models of RB wedge big blocks, as long as a 1968 or later water pump housing is used. Why pay 50-60 bucks or more from the "reproduction" stores when we now have these available at a very affordable price. These are the only brackets that WILL FIT "B" engines (361-383-400) directly out of the box with no modifications necessary. These came from 440source and I ended up going with a different bracket so I can use the denso style alternator. $15 obo plus shipping.

I'm trying to decide between original style alternator or Denso style on my 451 build. (400 RB block). Can you share with us your source and P/N for the Denso setup you switched to? Either way, I may be interested in these original brackets if you still haven't sold them.

If your not trying to go factory and want a more reliable constant power source I'd recommend switching. Plus you get to do away with the voltage regulator, clean up the firewall a little bit, and drop some weight in the engine bay (To see what the alternator looks like installed see my thread "Rusty's Roadrunner"). The alternator is actually from a '85 - '91 Toyota 4runner with a L4 engine and can be had at any autopart store (I got mine at O'Reilly's). You'll have two choices of output 60 amp or 70 amp. There are no differences as far as form/fit of the two alternators one just has a higher output for a/c equipped 4runners. I went with the 70 amp since I'll be putting a stereo system in the car and the alternator will only supply what is needed anyway.

As far as the mods required, you will have to wire a few things for the alternator. It will need a 12 volt reference source because of the internal regulation of voltage. Also since you would be running a higher output alt it is recommend to also bypass your ampmeter and install a voltmeter and run a wire from the alt battery post to the starter relay. Yep, thanks, I've bought a kit from madelectrical and have read about these things. The only thing I hadn't figured out is which alternator/bracket setup to go with. I was thinking of a GM style originally. I looked at a bunch of aftermarket denso alternators and talked to several outfits like Mancini and Powermaster and they didn't have one that would work. Your Toyota suggestion sounds like a good idea. Did you get the matching brackets from the parts store also and specify '85 - '91 Toyota?

Nope I bought them from AR Engineering, it's Andy Fink...Fs company. I also bought a connector for the alternator that will make the wiring job cleaner/easier because the back of the Toyo alternator has a circular plug type connector. You can just rig up some spades to do the same thing but I wanted it to look cleaner plus I think it will help keep things sealed and less prone to corrosion.
