Just worn out...

I hear ya. Tomorrow is the initial fire up of my 1966 Plymouth Satellite project. I finally made it after 7 plus years of doing this project. There were some down times where a few months lapsed. But after returning back home to CA 1 year ago, I took a sabbatical from working and started focusing on getting this project running. I still have a ways to go but for all intense and purposes, the car will be drivable and legal now. But it has worn me out. Because of that my Golf Teaching business and game have suffered along with these old bones...63 years young. Still had to crawl around on concrete to do it but I now can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I will finally have "MY RIDE" built and it is done my way. When all is said and done with it, I will keep it and drive it until I no longer can. Then give it to my Nephew when I no longer can drive but that is a ways off. What I have come to realize though is that I will never do this again. This is the last of working and building MOPARS. And without deep pockets to pay some one else to do it, that this is the last one. Kind of bitter sweet but now that I am older, all I want to do is just drive....

AMEN MY BRUTHA.... go on with your bad self. drive is the name of the game anymore. dont get me wrong , i love turning wrenches....and making things " mine"...but when its all said and done....thats all i wanna do also....IS DRIVE THE DAMN THINGS! ...but as we both know...these things are never " completely done".

whoa Bundy!:headbang:

I turned 61 in May so I know the feeling. Yesterday, I cleaned up some out behind the shop then mowed and then rode my trail bike and today I'm paying for it. About walking away to recharge....mine is still apart 15 years later!

Sometimes you just need to take a break for a while. Sometimes I tinker with another one of my projects then go back at it. Hell my 340 Dart has been a WIP for 20 years now. Tomorrow is another day.

I can relate all too well to the heat and age factors... I have not even started my car up in about 6 weeks, and haven't done any work on it. Just too darn hot right now to do either. I was going to work at boxing in my trunk and making it all purdy but that will have to wait for the cooler weather. I don't even feel like driving it these days.

My ride's been sitting since the beginning of the month when it went out for a "classic parade" in 98-degree heat. Been doing some woodshop work instead and forgot to throw a cover over the car - and to close the DS window. Now my next job is to get 1/4" of sawdust off of everything without scratching what's left of the paint... :eusa_doh:

Well I stuck to my plan today..installed my Lokar kick down cable, my B&M shifter, my starter, the radiator and finished bolting down my motor mounts. Now for tomorrow.......
