Dodge pulling out of nascar Again

NASCAR is a homogenous pile of poo. IDK why any manufacturer even bothers any more. "Oh my modified engine won!" BFD....

It is my understanding that michal andretti has bought evernhams old shop and was going to buy the penske stuff and run a three car team . to 70rr-brian after 2002 all of the rules changes your right nascar SUX!.but for us old dueds that rememberthe old nascar when it kicked @$$. try as we might we just can't let it go. :3gears:

i had read those rumors on MOPARTS and was getting excited , but alas i guess they were just rumors ? Also there was rumors petty was coming back to dodge also !

I remember when stock cars looked like stock cars. I've lost interest in whatever it is they've got running out there now.

I know NASCAR needed money but bringing in Toyota was a mistake. I stopped watching when that happened. Fans do have brand loyalty despite what they thought.

It won't be long, in the interest of fair play, that NASCAR will have some sanctioned body producing the "engine of the future". The only thing left after that on the "joke (car) of the future" will be a Dodge/Ford/Chevy/Toyota Sticker all of which are made in China.

I didn't have to try hard at all...I let it go quite a few years back and I have ZERO remorse about it.

:urkidding:just left allpar and it is true, dodge is out. i'm going to the garage to have a beer! :eusa_boohoo:

I saw something somewhere, that Robbie Gordon was supposed to do some Mopar team chassis & engines programs, supposedly he was going to purchase the engine program stuff from Penske, to do R&D for Mopar & be the sole Mopar program & expand to be a multi-car race team, a while back now, I don't know if anything has developed from that, I think it was, Robbie Gordon was on "Track Side" or one of those Nascar Shows on Speed Channel, talking about it, but he couldn't really elaborate too much, until the season is over & contracts are signed type BS.... As far as it actually happening I don't have a clue... It would be a damn shame for Mopar to pull out of Nascar completely, "yet again"... Yes Nascar is just a shell of it's once great racing series, for the last 10 or so years now, IMHO anyway...

I see it as another step in thier (supposed?) decision to do away with the Dodge nameplate

Don't you guys realize it is not about loyalty it is about $$$$$$$$$$$

Its not good for Nascar either as MOST hardcore Dodge guys are mopar only fans and are very loyal and they will loose that whole segment . They think all Nascar fans follow the driver only . I have dropped Bill Elliot , Casey kane , ryan newman , Kurt busch as well as several others as my drivers . I Rooted for the whole brand and all the dodge boys . Not the driver once they left My dodge . I saw this coming as soon as they let toyota in and I still hate all the traders who own teams and drive for toyota . Rant off

Me too Stuart, but I still like Tony Stewart though, I mainly route for Dodge & see what position any Dodge qualifies, where any Dodge finishes, in all three race events, Trucks, Nationwide & Cup... Petty Enterprise needs to go back to Dodge & stay there, IMHO anyway... It's just not right to see any Petty car, any number & especially the #43, not being a Dodge... It's just wrong... It's all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for sure...

i only started watching nascar again when dodge came back. kesolowski has been the only bright spot this year. let hendrick win them all next year,i wont be watching. go fiat!!!!!

Don't watch the "Roundy Round Left Hand Turn Only" NASCRAP and haven't since the early 80's. It isn't racing to me. Same Ol' Same Ol'. I would much rather see Road Racing where the driver has to "DRIVE" the car. By that I mean slow down, shift gears, Heel/Toe braking, right turn left turn.etc. NASCAR stopped being a defining sport when it changed and forced restrictor plates and the cookie cutter appearances. The last straw was Toyota...even being allowed into the field. Waste of time, money and air time...

Agreed...I gave up on NASCAR years ago.
Car of tomorrow..what a joke.
Toyota...complete insult to an American Institution.
Taking a "stock" car and MAKING all manufacturers bumpers match-up to eachother...joke.
A front wheel drive car on the showroom, and rear wheel drive on the track, but we still call it stock.....joke.

Yep, I quit wasting my Sundays long ago.

Even so, It sucks to see one of the BIG THREE pull out, while the "import" flourishes.

I totally agree and I totally respect tony for leaving gibbs over the whole toyota deall

Richard Petty was the main reson i got into mopars.I will always respect him as a driver. He had some good drivers that could've put his name back on top.Like everyone else i too quit watching the races when dodge first pulled out.I don't cheer for the driver, hell next year they'll be driving for somebody else anyway.I watch and see how many cars a dodge can finish in front of.Alot of us can remember when the race wasn't won by who can get out of the pits first, but who had the balls to get on the track and actually race. The way nascar is heading, they might as well have everybody race in stock mini coopers.
