Hi guys how's it going I wanted to vent a little bit about year one lol. I've ordered from them twice now the first time for a body bumper kit for the 73 roadrunner and it took a month to get it. Now last week I ordered lanyards and clips for my factory hood pins as mine were missing. So today's the day they are supposed to be here and I've been dying to install them just can't wait lol. So the package comes and I open it first I pull out the lanyards sweet then I dig back in for the clips and nothing but a paper that says they are back ordered. I am so irritated are these clips different from the ones at the hardware store I want to get something on there as year one said they are a week and a half out on those.

Items constantly on backorder is the most annoying thing about buying from Year One.

Year One provides one-stop shopping but there are several other vendors out there who offer better pricing.

Try Mancini Racing, they have many parts in stock... I've purchased a ton of stuff from Year One & I understand how it's frustrating to go thru the "back order" ****, but it's part of the game, hurry up & wait...LOL....

i stopped buying from yearone 10 years ago when their 109.00 dollar go wing tripled in price. their customer service, delivery costs and time proved to me its all about money and nothing else. year one sucks IMHO

Are you taking about the keys that go into the pins or the ends with the hole used to attach the lanyard to the car?

I have had nothing but problems from yearone. I usually check out there catalogs to see if a part is being reproduced and then see if I can find it elsewhere. If I can't find it somewhere else then I am stuck with yearone, but they are a last resort.

I knew that I couldn't be the only one with that same strategy.

X3.... I gave up on them 10 years ago as well. Mainly because they use their outrageous shipping/handling cost to blood suck some extra profit out of you.
I'll be honest and say thier customer service was actually pretty decent in the three times I used them in the past decade.

Yes I'm talking about the keys or clips that go into the pins my car has the factory pins but the lanyards and clips were missing. To me they look an awful lot like some I saw in aubuchans lol though maybe the.originals are chrome though not sure

Yep but, Sometimes you have to dance with the devil, to get what you need...

I bought my sixpack hood from them, they had to send 3 before I got one that not was damaged during transport.

Propwash,

Funny you should mention that...I actually complained to them about that on a survey. They charge WAY too much for 'handling'.

When i was doing my 73 i used Year One pretty much for hard to find things, i found them to be very reasonable as far as the customer service gos, with returns and making things right. The shipping and handling charges i found to be completely out of reason. I still tell people to try them if there having problems locating parts but do explain the shipping/handling to them.. Most all parts are pricey but if they would get prices a little better then they are with the shipping i wouldn't have a problem using them..

Maybe if somone has a pic of their clips that go into their pins I see if they are the same.

Last resort for me also. Way too spendy.

me too kind of

I got my 69-1/2 6bbl A12 style hood from them also, back in 2005, they had the best/quality reproduction one at the time, no issues, but cost $1000 for everything, with all the pins/keys, lanyards, trim rings, proper style A12 rear pin mounts, all together w/shipping... :headbang:
