Hello! Another new guy with a new project. NOW WITH PICS!

Hello,
I finally got started working on my 1966 Coronet Deluxe and found you guys today :hello2:. I also just signed up on the Slant6 forum to get some engine advice since this thing needs a little help everywhere.

I've started on overhauling the brakes since they were stuck solid and I'm having a bear of a time getting the correct axle seals for the 7 1/4" rear, all the usual places have listings that come up with seals that are too large :icon_sad:. I will get the seal numbers that I've been dealing with so far and ask for help in the tech section. Thanks, Mike

Welcome to the site Sprag. If you need Engine parts or what not, I have a running 225 slant in my 68 Sattelite parts car I will be parting out.

Thanks, I'll get some pictures up soon.

68Chicken, Thanks for asking......
From what I can tell so far, the only thing this thing needs under the hood is an exhaust manifold, this one is cracked. I'm going to look into a header for it or possibly make my own, but that's a ways off, I need to get this thing rolling first!

Here it is as found, an abandoned project;

The PO bought this from someone's granpappy in MN and planning on restoring it but gave it up. Still wearing the original paint, she appears unmolested but has a little boo-boo out back that is the real budget buster for now. I'll get to it eventually but judging by the scarcity of the 66 rear bumper, I may be in trouble there.

I love this body style, post cars rule my world.

If anyone can help me with the photos, I'm trying to figure out what I did that has the two of the three images repeated as attachments. I don't see a 'Manage Attachments' button in here. I thought I used the 'Insert Image' button for all three but must have screwed up somewhere.

OMIGOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you used the word "boo-boo"!! That is so totally awesome! I like to call cars cute ... (messes with their heads)

Welcome to the forums, I'm new myself and restoring an unmolested 1970 Coronet. She is in WAY worse shape than the pics of your baby, but since she is a "special" project, I'm fine taking my time and getting exactly what I want!

welcome to FBBO, nice find...

Welcome to FBBO. Great place for anything Coronet related. Looks like a
great start for a "project".
Can I ask you a favor? Can you post a picture of the steering column shaft to the steering gear? I'm trying sort some parts out.

Hey Copper, I can get that photo for you but it might be a few days. This thing is at my buddy's shop and I don't get there as often as I'd like to.

Steering pix

copper, here's a few photos of the steering shaft and gear. I hope you needed this for manual steering, it's all I got. (PM to follow later about the drums)
