I don't think anyone posted this yet, but somebody needs to snatch it up!

Not my car, it would be mine if I could swing it! According to vin it's a real u code car, not sure what else on it is factory, such as air grabber. The chin spoilers and go wing had to be added after since they weren't offered in 72, but it looks to be a damn nice car! Unique color too for $23,950

No idea how the hell a car like this ends up at a Toyota scion dealership:

Makes the dealership look better! I assume that must be a decent starting price.. way out of my range though.

There's no way a '72 can be worth that much! I think the comma should be moved one digit to the left.

They made less Road Runners in 1972 than any other year. That could have a bearing on the price. That and it is a really good lookin car.

LOL...... they dont sell for that much but people try... Now a days about 15-16 is what you can get for a decent 71/72
Even the 68/69 are only selling for 20-24 these days

Why do they call stripes strobes?

i have seen a few trade for more then that..lol
the thing is they were the top 2 percent in condition, desirable
options/color and number matching/documentation or a survivor type car.
those kind of cars are very few and far between.
this car shown is not one of them

they're actually called " tank tracks "and i kinda like em. its something ya just dont see alot. that price is WAYYYYYY too high for that car....itll be sitting for a while guys until they drop the price to around 15- 18 G's. sharp car tho i hate the color!

Because they're on and off, like a strobe. I like the rear strobes but the front just look like overkill.

Where did you see these listed as "tank tracks"? That's a first for me.

Not saying you naysayers don't know your mopars, but you obviously don't know much about this model, especially if you think it's a$2300 car, that's just plain stupid.

672 cars were ordered with the GTX package in 72, so it's a unique car. Say what you want about compression and everthing else, it's still a 440 n96 car.

As said, to each their own.

Yeah you are right... guys in here dont know much about the hobby or the cars or their value... :icon_pai:

Its not as desirable as you think.. Most guys put the cutoff at 70 ..
I happen to like the style and I shop for them all day long.... Its not a $23k car to 98% of the people.. Maybe... Just maybe you will find someone who wants that color combo and is willing to pay for it but it will take a special collector to buy that at 23k. Maybe we are all wrong but I see nicer one than that not selling for the same price.. 15-17 k is what I see the nice ones sell at.. is it a 440-6 ? It holds more value than the others

Maybe the dealership is having a "!!!2007 Prices!!!" sale....Either way, nice car and the Scion dealership actually has a decent vehicle sitting on its lot.

Read my comment, I said they know mopars, maybe just not the specifics of the 72 rr GTX. Kinda like you, because if you knew 72s you'd know the 440+6 was not offered, although a few chargers and rrs did slip out of the factory that year, 3 if my memory is right, but I might be wrong. I agree on the color though, it is unique but not desirable. Fine with me if people view anything after 70 as a garbage fake undesirable muscle car, more for me! The styling of the 71-72s is the best of the rr/GTX, but that's just my opinion.

I also thinkt here were a few FURYs with the 440-6 option or left the factory in 71 and 72.

I love the 72 Road Runners and I do think the prices are out of range right now just as many cars are. I do see a good bit of cars selling for way less then what they have in them and right now is a buyers market.

we've always called them strobes , and yes that price is a little rough IMO

BRUZILLA... the Rat put a link to the tank tracks. i have heard them called that forever although im sure they have a proper name.

DGRAVER.....hi buddy...welcome back to the site. nice to see ya again! ill agree and say there werent alot of these made. other than your RR/ GTX...i have seen a handful. im sure there will be someone willing to pay that price, but as we all know , prices are negotiable and it will go for less. and this shitty economy aint helping matters much. if that thing was lime green or hemi orange or ANYTHING but brown, i might consider putting myself in the poor house to buy it!....but as of now...i just cant!

You and I seem to agree on this. I think anyone doesn't appreciate those cars all the way to 1974 is a fairweather fan. You could still get bright colors, mean *** stripes and big block power. Maybe they didn't have all the power, but they were still being MADE. I've always respected Mopar for trying to continue on when everyone else was shutting down the muscle car production. I think it will be those later cars whose values will shyrocket in time.

Another thing I believe is correct that my friend Rodney pointed out......about the stripes, we think it was an either or thing. In other words you could not get the tank stripes and strobe stripes together on that car. Might be wrong. Somebody just made it like they wanted it. I think it's cool.
