It seems like everytime i go inmy garage i have to organize it first to find all my tools, then have to do the same thing the very next day. I don't know what my problem is.

Pops, soooooo true! But I'm not only limited to hand tools. Cutting tools for the mill and lathe, bolts, car parts, etc.. Sometimes I just walk around in circles until whatever I loose appears. Maybe time for GPS tracking on everything. The upside is I haven't lost the hemis yet.

I'll go one worse. I've been walkin around lookin for my air ratchet......while it was in my hand draggin the air hose behind it.

I got so much crap I'm lucky to find anything without an all out search. The only benefit to the search is typically finding other items that were MIA and had not turned up on previous searches! Usually by the time something turns up, I've aready made a trip to replace said item with another. Sometimes the search goes on so long I've forgotten what the hell I was looking for to start with. Then its time to turn the lights out and try again another day..............

Ive had that happen a 1000 times! Seems it ends up i find what i was looking for just a few days later more often or not..

The only sure way to find a missing tool is to go and buy a new one, then I bet you'll find it........

Lucky me I live on a bit of an incline, and right now I have to work on my car in the driveway due to lack of room in the garage. So most of my time is spent chasing tools down the driveway lol.

My biggest thing right now with my shop at home is motivation. I SWEAR I cannot get motivated. I have this really nice 65 Coronet now. Been lookin for a good 65 body a long time. Had a nice little 65 Valiant years ago and let it go like a dumbass. But now, through depression, tight finances and everything else, I've lost motivation.....and it's really TOUGH getting it back this time. I just had a friend lend me his rotisserie so I can start on the bottom of the Coronet.....and although it's a wonderful gesture......THAT has still not gotten me motivated. I'm just gonna keep pluggin forward though and get r dun. Motivated or not.

[h=2]How I spend time in the garage ?....If I need a "tool" and run across the street, run down into the basement, I get down there & forget what the he!l I am looking for![/h]

I built my garage approx 60 yards from my house. My next project will be finishing the restroom in the garage. Seems like as soon as I gather all the tools necessary for job I have planned,Guess what? I must go back to the house to use the facilities. But it gives me time to second guess myself on my plans.

Do as the truckers do, Lowhound. Piss bottle. In the garage. I reuse a large glass bottle that used to hold juice.

I started using it when I realized that if I go back in the house, my wife asks me to do ****, and then whatever I'm working on in the garage is shot. A piss bottle is the much more logical choice.

well...this is my day.....ready ?

i get up...and make coffee...think about what im gonna do to the car today....sipping coffee and burning the roof of my mouth THENNNNNNNNNNNNNNN..... i go out to the barn if its above 40 degrees...look at the car and decide what im gonna do to it,,,,again.THENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN....once i decide what im gonna do....i get to it....and i dont leave until what i set out to do that day is complete..........THENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN...i get on this forum on my way to EBAY.....help a few dudes on things i know about.....laff at the political forum....and wonder who is going to give me "infractions' for saying things they arent happy about........THENNNNNNNNNNNNN....once thats all taken care of...i get on ebay...and order stuff i need so it gets here just as i need it....so far,,,,so good.....and thats how i spend my time in the garage ( barn )

The pie chart doesn't have a "drink beer" selection????

anymore its clean off the work bench to be able to do anything

THEN organize all the tools that were left out from the last project

Then after those 2 Im usually unmotivated anymore to actually take stuff back out and dig back into what I was going to do in the first place

PS I have done then same thing before ...walked around looking for a tool when I was working with it already at the same time .......you really get that feeling when that happens of did I really just do that

Drink beer....then think about what I need to do. Open another beer. Do some work....sit back and admire my work and crack open another beer. Try to do some more work and open another beer and start looking for those tools I was just using. Open another beer. Then my wife comes out to see what I'm doing and says "you've been drinking, right" and I say "just a couple and continue to look for my tools then I start looking for where I put my beer. Open another beer and then find the old one but it's still cool so.......
