my stepdad is selling the belvedere ive been working on for 1k ):

Any chance you can buy it from him? if so, send me your paypal info and i'll contribute $50 to the fund.

The only catch is when you can afford it, you have to give that same $50 to someone who needs it. If you cant commit to that, then no deal.

i would, but theres no way he would sell it to me. the even worse thing about it is he said i could have it when i graduate which is 5 months away and now he sells it :(

I'd call him down on that deal. His word is no good if he says you can have it then goes against what he said.....and why wouldn't he sell it to you? After all, he already said what he said.

Ah well, i was hoping to get something rolling here to help you out. Sounds, like a tough situation, best of luck. I hope you're not the hot head that i was.

he wont sell it to me because he thinks i wont ever do anything to it. even though im out there every friday and saturday working on it :(

Now wait a minute guys. There's always two sides to every story. I don't think anybody would go back on a deal like that for no reason.

he's a drunk. he always does stuff like this it's just stupid :(

That blows.

Perhaps you shouldn't take much stock in anything this person does or says.

Sad.

I'm a stepdad and a drunk, and I wouldn't do that.

I have a step daughter that was a druggie and I feel the only reason that she's not anymore is because I don't try to help her anymore.....but even tho she has pretty much dried out, there has NEVER been any apologies for all the crap she's done to us. She really stuck a stake into me and especially her mom but her mom is more forgiving. I at least let her into my home but I'm not real happy about it and it's mainly because my wife asked me to not totally block her out of our lives. I bent over backwards for that girl and now that she's nearly 40, she pretty much has nothing to her name and barely has a roof over her head. I think if she had been my flesh and blood.....well, there's no telling what I would have done.

May have done you a favor actually.
A. Hate to see ya throw money into a old worn out 4-door.
B. Get your own car that does not have any ties to him. That way he can't pull **** down the road.

sometimes its best to not get upset and
just cut your losses and start stashing loot away for your own ride.
stop working on the car and use the time to make some extra loot
then you can't get caught into this position.
good luck

If i may, let's not hate on 'step' family members or drunks. I know several great steps and many many good men and women who have a problem with the bottle (among other problems). The issue here is the man. Jacob, learn from this. It's all you can do.

i dont hate him because he's not my real dad, he's the closest thing to a dad i have. but you should always be a man of your word. regardless

I would think it would be easier to find one there as opposed to say like new england? Rust country. Keep your chin up everything will work out.

it seems like no one has any or no one is selling any ):

Keep looking it usually takes a while to find a decent deal. You may have to extend your search area a little. If you want it bad enough eventually you'll get one.
