I just started the tear down on my 71 Charger restoration project yesterday. Before tearing into the drip rail and wildshield chrome moldings, I thought I would google around to see if I could buy new ones... with no luck. Is there somewhere to purchase these that I am missing? They aren't in terrible condition, and could be restored, if there is anyone out there that is good at it? Thanks so much!

Just google Mopar stainless trim restoration. There are several companies that do this. Some do only Mopar trim and many will restore any stainless trim. If you are having it restored you might want to look close to home so that you don't have to worry about shipping damages. If you are missing trim. It is either classified ads or Ebay, most likely.

If you need to replace molding, I ordered a '74 Charger wheel molding from Metro Parts Company in GA. First of all, they were willing to sell me just the one I needed, and not force me to buy a whole set like other suppliers I'd talked to. The part wasn't cheap, but I got what I paid for-nice looking molding which fit perfectly, and was cast the right way right here in the USA. It arrived quickly and undamaged, and didn't bend like spaghetti when I put it on. Would buy from Metro again in a second.

Here is some information for a guy in my area that has specialized in trim and parts for 71-72 B bodies. These are not new, but used ones in good shape. He's tracked downs some rare trim pieces for me and the prices were reasonable for the parts. If you're just looking for drip rail and winshield trim I'm sure he has them. Maybe worth a call just to see if he has anything that is an upgrade at a reasonable price.
