Car is a 69 Charger R/T.
Looks like I'm gonna go with a FF box
but can't decide between the 2 or the 3.
Car will be driven all summer, mostly highway.
I've searched the archives already... But
need more help. Anyone regret getting a 2
instead of a 3 or vice versa?
Thanks

I got the 2 in my 67 and like it, never driven a car w/3, but if it steers any harder then the 2 at low speed, your gonna need a large diameter steering wheel to park it in a space. The 3 is recommended for autocross type driving. I would go with the 2 for the highway and back road type driving. Good road feel and the wife can still drive it.

the number 2 isn't harder to park or maneuver at slow speed that a manual steering 68-70 b-body with stock wheel/tires is it? would you say almost the same or still much easier?

I have FF level 1 in the Coronet. Sweet. Next time I would go to 2. 3 sounds like too much. Don't forget steering wheel diameter. I have a Momo smaller wheel. With a Sport Wheel it may seem looser.

Went level 2 in my 71 but have not driven it yet. Getting close though!!!!

I have a ff2 sitting in the box just waiting for it to get warmer for painting then she' in like flynn.

I have a 3 in my Cuda. I asked a similar question a few years ago and the concensus was a 2 was too light, so I went with a 3. Dick did try to sell me a 2 though. I like the 3. The feel is similar to my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I like that over the usual mopar light one finger steering that the Cuda had previously.
My Belvedere is manual steering so no comparison.

Stage 2 makes the steering wheel feel acceptable. Stage 3 makes it feel right!

65 Hemi,
I have a 04 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Love
the feel of it. What year is yours? Let's see
If we are comparing the same years

FF does more than just replace parts in their boxes...machine parts for better tolerances. Now, just rebuilding a pump will not take up the loose tolerances in the box, thats why a better box is used. Not saying a rebuilt pump wouldn't help, but it wont cure the factory slop.

have you performed this maneuver? what were the results?

wonder if your jeep steers with the same amount of tightness as my 99 4x4 durango which i have been paying attention to since reading this thread ... hadn't really paid attention to the resistance but i reminds me of the 68 manual steering RR i used to have.

I have FF level 2 in my 68 satellite. Once I got all the other suspension upgrades dialed in it was and is great. I also drove Dennis H's coronet with level 1 and I actually like it better. Remember level 1 is firmer than stock and has been described as cop car feel. I think the level 3 would be way too much for the street. Dennis also drove my 68 and prefers the level 2. I think I like level 1 better because I drove full pinky finger loose steering for twenty years and am used to the lighter feel.

what are these other "suspension upgrades" you speak of?

That was supposed to be a link to shimming the pressure regulator hat I cannot find now. I will keep looking. It was in all the big magazines when it came out.

Here it is. Straight from Rick Ehrenberg. If Rick says it works, it WORKS. I really like that guy.
