When I sold my '69 Bee years ago, I thought I would never on another B-body due to high prices. Never say never. I found this 67 for $3000 on craig's list. 383 , 727 and running. It will now be my strip toy with left over parts from the Bee. The plan is to build an 12-11 second toy using what I have, good used and new bargain parts. It is being built for pure fun and not to be the "fastest" thing out there. If any one needs or wants the rare Bumper guard bumpers, PM me. More to comeView attachment 104736View attachment 104737

Good for you bud, have a blast with it.

Nice lookin car and great score. You know, I KNEW before I ever looked at your location that you were in the southeast. It has a look like no other down here.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. It has been my dream since I was a teen to have a MoPar race car, particularly a B-body. Things kept getting in the way, kids, etc, but now it looks like I might do it. I will outline my combo later and hopefully tap into the wealth of knowledge here and have this thing racing by next year.

Looks like a really clean 67... what are the plans for the 67 drag-car, I assume ?? what class of drag racing ?? what engine ?? what Transmission & drive-train, gears etc. ?? what exhaust, heads, camshaft, valve-train, induction, fuel etc. ?? what type suspension ?? what chassis upgrades ?? what interior & body mods, hood, any fiberglass, cage, etc. ?? just my morbid curiosity

Budnicks, my plan for the car is really simple, have fun for as little money as possible. I am a retired Firefighter on fixed income, so money has to be well spent. I am taking your advice and am trying to get as much knowledge and info as possible. I am blessed to live where I do as NC has probably as many drag strips as anywhere else. I have racing neighbors that race everything from pro mods to stockers. You have to filter the advice sometimes , but they have been more than willing to help. To answer your question; I plan the following:
.030 over 440 with stock steel crank
Stealth heads w Harland Sharp rockers
M-1 intake w/ 750 Holley race carb, flows over 800 cfm
Hooker 17/8 headers
Rebuilt 727 w 3500 stall converter
4.10 w/ spool
275-60 drag radials or 11.5 x 28 ET Streets
Cal Trac bars

I already have all these parts except the Cal Tracs and spool. Some may not be optimum but My goal is 11-12 seconds on street tires so I can run in the street and trophy classes. My local track has a 11.49 heads up class that I would like to run that is geared towards street type cars. I will be looking for advice and suggestions as I go along. I have to get the block machined, buy pistons and cam. I like the challenge of doing this with out stroking or power adders as so many are doing.

Nice Car. i've always liked those. Got a good deal imo.

Sounds like fun & a great plan/outline... Good luck, have fun & thanks for the responce...

Nice car. Hope you have fun and enjoy it ! Ron

Hey, I paid the man! Actually got him down to 2800 due to issue with paper work. Deducting the parts I sold that I wasn't going to use, I'm in it for 2000 or less. Originally a 318 car, I won't feel bad if I decide to modify it later on. With the 'Bee, I didn't want to change anything permanently. This one will be more fun!

man you really lucked out with that deal!! your build sounds like mine:hello2:you can tuck the 275's under the fender with a backspacing of 4.5 on a 8" wheel, weld makes them as well as some other companies. IMHO it is the "perfect" tire wheel combo without cutting ANYTHING!!! good luck and keep us posted.

Great score! have at it with the fun!!
