It's part of the Mopar family, so it's cool. If you can't find a Hemi, maybe a Cross Ram? I think those look awesome on hot rods.
thanksDon't forget about the Dodge and DeSoto hemis. Sometimes they can be had much more reasonably. Plus, the Dodge Red Ram was made all the way up to 325 kyoobs and the DeSoto's largest was a 345. Nuthin wrong with either of those. I like the Dodge Red Ram Hemis because they are physically a lot smaller than the Chrysler engines and can fit places the Chryslers cannot. And don't think parts are not available. Cruise the HotHeads site sometime. Just somethin to think about.
Here's you a couple of decent deals.

I know you said Hemi, but check this out.

It's a Super Red Ram poly. Look at them saw tooth valve covers. That would rock in a rat rod. Also, I am almost certain that like their Chrysler counterparts, the Dodge Hemi heads will bolt right on.
I got luck and found a guy who builds lots of early Hemi's but he just does it for fun in his spare timeDon't forget about the Dodge and DeSoto hemis. Sometimes they can be had much more reasonably. Kevin williams , I found him by placing a want add on Hot heads , but then it turns out hes actually a friend of a friends who vouched that hes a great guy .Cool. Glad you located one. I just rebuild my oil pump. The 331 is different. The modded 340 pump will fit, but it only puts out like 3% more than the stock Hemi pump, so I just rebuilt mine. What's the guys name that's doin it? I bet he's a member over on The Hamb.
I got luck and found a guy who builds lots of early Hemi's but he just does it for fun in his spare time. so he is building me a 392 , exactly the way i want it all set up to bolt right in and right at my budget
the yellow valve cover is the one he is building for me , getting a modern 340 high volumn oil pump and mild lobe isky cam
a 350 tranny adapter and modern electronic ignition distributor .
that guy has got some cool early hemi's... a 392 Hemi will be cool as hell in that Nash/Rambler....
yes its boxed in some sections but may need more up by the motorWhats the chassis like on the nash Stu?Hopefully the rails are boxed atleast in the engine area. That engine has to be like 300 lbs more than a sbc?
