My 73 'Runner has no rear window winders. Is this unusual? I thought all these cars came with a rear window winder whether electric or wind down.

Yeah...my 1973 RR is winderless too...but it looks cool that way...Marla

I only really noticed when looking for replacement interior panels. They all list as with electric or winders as far as I could see. Still, mine aren't so bad anyway.

Oftenthe RR did not come with roll down rear windows. It was one of the things they did to keep the selling price low. But you can easily retrofit to manualor electric by going with Satellite parts. Thatis also why a RR is an RM car instead of a RP like the ssp. M=medium price & acc VS P=Preimum price and acc.
They are the same car dressed out differently

The road runner for 73 is based on the satellite coupe. Although the same body shell was used for both the coupe and hardtop, the difference between them was that the coupe had fixed rear windows.

Thanks for the info guys, I didn't realise that's what RM meant. In some respect it holds up the tradition of the original RRs, no frills? Mine has no air con, sound proofing doesn't even have a headliner these days!

The RM is for a roadrunner......it's the 21 or the 23 after it that applies to the coupe or the hardtop (on a hardtop the rear windows roll down)

Not sure if the 21 and the 23 code applies to a 73, but I know it was still in use in 1970.

RM21 is a "coupe" body- no rear windows, although 68-70 had "pop-out" rears.

RM23 is a "hardtop" body with roll down rears.

You can add them if you really want to.

74 RR, no winders here. I think there was a thread about this a few years ago with even more information.

The E body cars had the same deal....coupe vs hardtop. Only difference is the rear windows are fixed.
