I recently bought a 1968 Charger R/T. Originally bought in San Fransisco CA, sold in the late 80's to the last owner, who parked it in his garage ever since. It has 97 more miles on it now, than it did when he purchased it (according to the title). He purchased a lot of parts to restore the car, but never did anything to it. It is a 440, auto on the console. I am beginning a frame of resto, tomorrow. Soda blast is scheduled for the 17th. It is a factory disc brake optioned car, and has just over 48,000 miles on the odometer. I have learned a lot from just poking around in here, and can't wait to learn more. I am sure I will need it! I have been a Mopar guy for years. It feels so good to "fit" in with the other Mopar nuts!

P.S. I did not pay what he was asking. Not by a LOOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG shot! :)

What a great car to have! The '68 Charger is high on my list of all time favorite cars - probably in my top 3. Good luck with it and keep us posted!

The 68's are my favorite year Charger. Looks like a nice project. What are your plans for it - going back to all original or a little customizing?

Great car ! Good luck, hope to see it when its done. Glad to hear you got a deal, there's some people who haven't heard cars values are not in the stratosphere anymore.

I'm going to change the color.. But other than that, and some motor work, it will mostly original.

Welcome to FBBO... Great car, I love 68 Charger R/T's, that was my 1st car...

nice car, same color that mine was! welcome

Excellent car, excellent foundation based on the photo's, and welcome to FBBO brother!

(you're gonna have to stop talking about frame off restos right now though :) )

Welcome to the site, and awesome project! Cool to see another 2nd gen charger joining the forum, and yours looks like it's in great condition to start with.

Feel free to shoot me a pm if you need any help on anything, I'm knee-deep in my '69 right now lol

Sounds just like my project. Good luck.

Looks really clean. Can you post some more pictures. Is the body nice. Mine is a 69 4 speed car.

The body has a $hit ton of dings and dents. I am going to have to replace the front drivers side fender, and the passenger side door skin. The rest I can fix rather easily. I just pulled the motor last night. I have a lot more pics, and will continue to post them as I go. But before I take the time to post, I have to get this thing stripped. It goes in for soda blast on the 17th, and I will be in Carlisle this Thursday through Sunday. Time is SHORT!!!

Real nice car....can't wait to see some progress and more pics :icon_thumleft:
