The process has been started for the reproduction of the rear interior panels for the 66-67 convertibles. It will take a few months for the process to result in some panels. I have a great set that will make plugs for the molds. I have started filling some scratches and removing the paint from the grain area for the best results.

This will be a great addition to the 68-70 panels and a much needed piece for the mopar community. Please PM me if interested.

Thanks for the update Joe, I am looking forward to the release.

is there a big demand for these parts? i have 2 sets of them id sell!!

dgswinger,
I would say there is a quiet demand for clean panels. I had been contacted several time when I introduced the 68-70 panels if I will have the 66-67 panels. The problem is that the originals are cracked and brittle or have holes cut in them. You have to be careful how you pack the originals to ship or they will arrive in pieces. People squirrel parts away and no one knows they are available. Everyone should take note, that this is an example of why everyone should post their rare parts for sale. I dont have to tell anyone that Mother Mopar had not made a lot of these cars and we all need to share.

I am not planning on getting rich from the sale of these panels. I was able to score a great pair of originals to copy. There are not many of these cars on the road today. If I sell 1 dozen sets I will be happy because I will make a little money to fund my road runner project and I made 1 dozen Mopars complete which made there owners happy when they drive and show them for generations.

Tallhair, These panels are exact copies of the originals, made from originals. All holes are in the same place and and exact size. The same goes for the 68-70 ones.

thank you

tallhair... i wasnt really looking to post an ad, these panels are pretty large and easily broken so i dont really want to ship them. if they get sold it will be local. or i will save them for carlisle next year to be sold. i just never see any 66/67 convertibles around so i didnt know there was a demand, but like many who look for hard to find parts its good to see jag is gonna be able to help these people out!!

dgswinger,

No problem, I did not think of it as a hijack, The panels I have are as close to perfect as possible considering the age. Thanks for the offer. Please bring your panels to Carlisle, someone will need them. There are more cars coming out of the weeds. Depending on condition people should restore the car instead of striping them like the old days. hopefully there will be some sheetmetal coming their way for the 66-67.

I hope this hobby will endure through the next few generations.

I hope that most of us are in it for the hobby and not only to make a killing.

Ok guys, here is the first pic of the panel fresh from the mold. It has taken a lot longer then expected to get this far.

It has been a while, I finally have received my first set of panels. Remember these molds were taken from a used set of 40+ year old panels. They look great considering the age.
