Im Not Hip to the Lingo..

I'm a few mos past due for an upgrade on my phone, but I'm not much of a techie and my eyes kind of glaze over and I start daydreaming when the phone-store cutie starts rattling off alphabet-soup phone jargon.

Any of you tech-savvy people have a new-phone suggestion for me? I have an HTC Droid now and it does just about everything I want it to BUT...I can't use it to post pictures without hosting them somewhere else. Photobucket and Picassa have each pissed me off at various times so I prefer to avoid them. Is there a phone available today that will support direct posting of photos?

I'm curious too, not to hi-jack your thread, but along the same lines... Maybe it will help you too... I too am not really tech savvy when it comes to cell phones &/or cameras especially, I really don't like cell phones at all... 1st off, is there a simple cell/digital camera/type phone... I don't really need or want any bells or whistles, all I want is so I can take a few digital photos, plug into a USB port & download photos directly to my PC Desktops Browser, store tem on my computer... do they make such a critter ??, do you have to by software to accomplish that ?? or will the Cell Phone/Camera come with it ??... sorry if this seem like stupid questions

I think you can do that with most of the newer phones. I don't have a computer so my phone IS my computer...I'm thumb-typing this right now, as well as all of my other posts.

My cell phone is so old, it still has the rotary dial face. I really don't want to upgrade myself and lock me in another 2 yr contract.

I would imagine most new phones can do what you are asking. I can post pics on here. Download pics off the web. Download pics I've taken with my phone onto my computer( all I do is plug in the usb to my phone and to my computer then go to settings-wireless & network-usb utilities) I'm using a Samsung Rugby Smart.

I'm often laughed at because of my old Motorola military grade Quantico flip phone. Well when you can drop your "smart" phone thru the grating on the floor of your 545 FIAT ALLIS loader fall 6 feet bounce off the pavement into a puddle and it still works.... maybe ol' BIGS will get one......

That's why I got the RUGBY. It's supposed to be dust , shock & water resistant.....and NO I haven't purposefully tried to smash it or drown it to find out. Lol

I've never purposefully done it, but "accidentally" went thru a bunch before I got that one. Gotta be at least 5 years old by now.

My understanding is that you should be able to post pics directly from your phone, at least to this site. There are some forums that do not have the capability to host photos so need to link to a hosting site.
