They are having a toy for tots drive. Bring in a new, unwrapped toy and get $10 off your race admission.

Let's get a bunch of board members to show up and do some just for fun, run what ya brung grudge racing. Nice laid-back crew and they do a great job prepping and I usually get in tons of runs there. Supposed to be low 60s and sunny. Who is in?

Hey so do you race at barona every drag? I am just asking cause we make it out there twice a month, hoping i will be able to track my street / strip build this upcoming summer. Anyway i would defiantly like to check out your car sometime.

I'm not there every time. I race at the San Antique Drags every spring and fall without fail and then I race as much as I can in the cooler winter months. I never go there in the summer.

Where is Dudnicks? He's always up for a good @ss wooping.

were you referring to me ?? I don't live anywhere near San Diego &/or Barona Dragstrip, Sonora It's several hundreds of miles northeast of there... with all the stuff going on here, with my Pops, Dr.'s & appointments etc., I won't be racing anytime soon unfortunately, maybe slight chance of going to Sacramento, Infinion or Bakersfield to spectate if ol' Pops health is ok, he'd probably enjoy that...

Ya, I guess I never really paid attention. I always thought you were from the LA area for some reason. Sorry for the "Dudnicks"....typo....honest. Kind of funny though. I may actually use it again.

Do you ever miss a thread?

No offence taken, I've been called much worse & many times...LOL... I figured it was a typo... I miss allot of threads or just ignore allot of threads, It all depends on my attitude, I try to check areas, that I post regularly & respond there 1st...

yeah I'm a NorCal boy

Anyone from San Diego County going to make it out there? The track's slogan is "if you can drive it, you can race it".

I guess everyone must have been busy with getting ready for the holidays. There were only about 32 cars there total. The good news was that I was able to get nine runs in, even with a small Cessna plane causing a major delay because he buzzed the track and then disappeared into the canyon at the end of the track.

He was coming in so low over the track, everyone thought he was trying to do an emergency landing on the track. The sheriff's department and fire department came out to look for the wreckage and they even sent a helicopter out to look for him but he must've made it somehow because they couldn't find the plane anywhere. So he was either hot-dogging or he needed to make an emergency landing and came in too fast and bailed on that idea and pulled off a save somehow.

So that ate up at least an hour.

No new best ET but I was within .05 of my best and I was able to test a couple changes and got a new best 60 foot, a 1.68, my first 60 foot in the 1.6s. Probably doesn't sound like much but this is a pretty stock street car so I was happy to see some improvement.

I scored some 15X8 fake Weld Drag Lites at the Fall Fling for $50. Going from a 7" to 8" rim allowed me to run a couple more pounds of pressure in the slicks while lowering my 60 foot.

The other change was I moved my breather from the back of the driver's side valve cover to the front and changed the type of breather to a Mopar style with a hose coming off it. No more oil spraying on my headers making a smoke screen on the top end and getting yelled at by the track officials.

On the way home the car died in the middle of an intersection and then would sputter at anything over 3,000. I checked my battery when I got home and the voltage is only 12.38 so I'll need to figure out if it's the battery, alternator or both. It's always something with these things but they are fun!

I think I've decided to bail on the factory console shifter. Even with the Shift R Gate that makes it ratchet like a Slapstick, it's not working that great for me. Thinking about a manual valve body too. There seemed to be a big delay on the 2-3 shift.

check your electronic ignition, is it a mopar performance, mine did the same thing,it would just shut off and wouldnt start,

The ECU is an older FBO Systems. I heard of a lot of people having problems with them crapping out. At the track it didn't seem to want rev out.

But are ECU failures all or nothing or do they sometimes sputter and die a slow death?

I have a Mopar Performance Orange Box ECU to swap in to try also.

Ultimately, I think I might try a combo of MP Chrome Box ECU and MSD Blaster 2 coil.
