So today started off pretty crummy. Car doesnt start, hook up to the charger and find out battery has a failed cell so I ride the GS650 to work and spit out $80 for a new battery. Get home and put it in and head out to target. Halfway there the temp gauge starts rising so I turn up the heater since thats what I always heard to do when the car starts overheating, but the heater doesnt blow hot. Get to target with the engine making some very odd noises. top her off with 2 gallons of water but no leaks! I hop back in and turn on the heater again to bleed the air out and the valve starts gushing water.
I have been looking all over for a replacement valve, but it appears to have been tampered with.

My question is should I just be able to swap any generic valve in here?

you could just put a gate valve in there to turn the water off and on in the heater till you find the correct valve any lowes or home depot would have one if it were mine though I would go to napa and just buy the correct valve for it I had to order one for my challenger thru napa took a day to get it

Lost 2 gallons of water and no leaks? It has to be going somewhere......

Don't see how it could lose 2 gallons from there tho...

Man it sucks when things don't go right, when all you want to do is drive and enjoy your mopar.

I had the heater on for about 5 miles plus whatever may have leaked before

If its winter time just splice it till summer.

Was it getting hot before the loss of water?

no actually. That is something I always keep an eye on as well.. Its usual range is at the first bar and a little above that and you can tell when the thermostat kicks open too.
