there was a White Hemi Superbird that sold for exactly $500k @ Barrett Jackson

Nice car for the most part, but that 74 RR was a "pie in the sky price", for sure {that's the highest "I've ever seen" & I thought the $34k the Kount got for his purple Sebring was "way high"}, that just proves there's an "a$$ for every seat & a price point for everyone"... no matter the car, no matter the sales history, logic be damned, people buy with emotion...

yes, alcohol fuel emotion.

The Don Prudomme, Tom McEwen, Snake & Mongoose set of 2 cars & 2truck/haulers, the actual 70 Cuda Snake F/C & a 72 Duster Mongoose F/C clone sold for $267k, what a storming deal IMHFO, man I wish I had the money, I'd be match racing them all over next season, with guaranteed buy ins....

That's all? Spoken like I have that disposable income - yeah right. But I expected a lot more out of the set. I would much rather have them than that hemi Super Bird for twice the money.

yeah me too...LOL... like I have that.... If I did, I'd be match racing all over the west coast, but I don't have that kind of cash, with out selling off a ton of stuff, or getting a mortgage {I'm 100% ownership/deed of all my cars houses, no car or house payments etc.} or sell off stocks etc. & I ain't doing that in this crappy economy....

I thought at-least $500k, more like $750k-$1 million at-least, for all that & 2 rigs 2 cars running & the parts etc.

Exactly!

And good for you for owning everything outright. I own my condo outright too and it's nice.

As an interesting side note to the Hemi Superbird sale, I was flipping through the channels last night, and came across Graveyard Carz on Velocity and as they were bumping into a break, Worman asked a question about how many Superbirds were produced. Knowing he would get the answer wrong since the number he offered was how many they were required to make and not how many they actually made, I stuck around to see what he would say after the break.

As expected, he said the 1,920 number, but he also said a number's matching Hemi Superbird would sell for over a million dollars, so it looks like his values were off by a good 50%.

You guys were right. There were two white Superbirds in the auction! BTW, the BJ site lists the Hemi Superbird selling for $550,000 so there was a $50k buyers fee... yikes!

10 percent is about the lowest you'll get a any auction house. DW buys and sells art and most of the buyers premiums run from 15-20 percent depending on the winning bid. My guess is that if you are buying over 1 million there is a lower premium... Wouldn't know, way out of my league.
