stock build ? roller ? stroker ? Stock build..030 over...6000 would be fair..another 1200 for a roller..2k more for a stroker

fully stock, including the motor. this is'nt me rebuilding my motor. its me buying a turn key motor

are you telling me i can get an original six pack 440 motor all rebuilt from the air cleaner (air cleaner included) to the oil pan fully rebuilt 6 pack for $6K ??? people are asking $3K just for the six pack set up no air cleaner. this is a brand new motor with 0 hours on it other than break in time.

Date coded is the key word for me on this one. If I had to have it and the dates were correct, you might hold me up for 10 or 12 grand. But I have never been too sharp on buying stuff. Buy high sell low.

New "6-pack" units are in excess of $2,500.

Herb's: Complete Six Pak Set Up for “RB” Engine 413, 426 wedge & 440. This Assemble Includes 3 New Holley Carbs, 1 New Mopar Performance Intake Manifold, Air Cleaner (Metal) Base & Orange Top, K&N Air Element, Studs, Wingnuts, Airhorn Gaskets, Air Cleaner Decal, 6 Pack Installation Kit That includes Brackets, Spring, Return Linkage, Throttle Cable, Vacumn Line, Upper & Lower Fuel Lines, Nuts & Bolts To Mount The Carbs, Also Nuts To Attach Coil. This Is The Most Complete Kit On The Market.......

Price: $2,769.00

What people forget is:
1. The cost of fuel lines
2. Linkage
3. Solenoind (if needed)
4. Air Cleaner assembly
5. kick down cable (if needed)
etc etc etc.
I know because I have a complete set-up in the box ready to go.
I NEVER installed it. (Went with the Hemi instead)

I have personally seen a complete "Carbs to pan" 6-pack motor sell for $12,000 (Numbers matching) in San Diego and at the time, people were fighting for this engine.
Why?
It was 2007 and the "peak" had arrived... for the MOPAR market.

You could easily spend a 1000 bucks just in the heads alone if they need the full treatment and I'm not talking about port work but if I was going to do a set of heads, the bowls would surely get worked on. The factory undercut sucks big time and there's some horse power in that area. It kinda depends on what the bottom end needed but 6k sounds a bit on the low side to me for a complete engine.

he stated stock...which of course could have hardened seats...valve job on iron stck heads shouldn't go over 600....stock.

correct air cleaner and six pack will affect the price significantly. which i highly doubt. hell, look at the price of just a repo air cleaner base. that being said spending several years as a professional engine builder, no engine is ready to just drop in unless you buy it directly from a reputable builder. then it might be "ok".

new six pack setups are closer to 2k......last I saw year one had them for 2100. Think about cost of parts except the block....8 to 10k is "rape" in my book

check this....600 for that special block.

Plus $300 shipping

I think the $6k is low. You're not factoring in the cost associated with everything. And I know you want a stock 69 motor. But frankly, a stock, non-questionable 69 440 6-pack setup is going to be hard to find, especially one that is turn key.

This is what the PO spent. I have a date correct 69 6-pack setup. 69 E-code block and 69 six-pack setup. All part/list numbers verified. This is based on the receipts I received with the car. All prices are as of 8-10 years ago.

$800 - good block
$1200 - Used six-pack setup with intake manifold. This setup costs more nowadays.
$500 - rebuild of carbs including new lines, gaskets, etc.
$2800 - motor rebuild and machine work w/ new internals, new cam, new seals and bored 0.40, bluesheet and balanced- few other things I'm not listing. Work done by reputable shop in the area
$250 - air cleaner, correct 6 pack lid, with decal
$600 - lift off hood with decals PRIMERED AND NOT PAINTED
$125 - lift off hood pin kit
$300 - misc. - like tuning costs

All together I think it was close to $6500.

For it to be a "correct" 69 6pack motor,it would have to have a vin to match a known car,if not it is just a 69 motor with a 6pack.A correct 69 A12 air cleaner is worth $2K by itself. You can go from there on value.

did they only put the 440 six pack in the A12 ?? did they put it in a convertible ??

If it's from a '69 Charger (XS), it is NOT an original 6bbl motor.
Only A12 package Road Runners and Super Bees built at the Lynch Road plant after about mid March of '69 received a true '69 6bbl motor.
No 69 convertible 6bbl cars.

Is the motor worth $8800 fully rebuilt with all 6 pack internals and everything to just plug n play including exhaust manifolds? It truly is a plug n play motor. Even spark plugs and wires with electronic ignition.

My only input is that if you trust the assembly and workmanship then you would pay that or slightly more to do a crate motor and source a 6 pack set-up so I don't think that price is unfair. I was just under 8k to get a crate 522 Stroker with single 4 barrel and ignition.

So there's no chance it's a 6pack block? He said its out of a charger.

Don't think there is any thing special about a 6 pak block, other than it may be a select piece from the factory. This could be just a garden variety 440 with the 6 pak intake on it. Check the harmonic balancer and see if it is the 6 pak type. Those motors were externally balanced, because of the heavier 6 pak rods installed in the original factory 6 pak motors.

That was in 1970. 69 Six Pack motors/blocks are exactly the same as the 4 BBL.
