Hey guys and gals, I picked up a 70gtx 440 4 speed Dana car and I'm trying to decode the fender tag. Having some trouble with finding these on the mymopar site. What is p6xw? Also v6c comes up as plum crazy stripes but I believe the original color of the car is burnt tan metallic with white interior and white top. Any help is appreciated thanks.

The P6XW is for your interior, the P6 being for bucket seats and the X & W, black and white. You can see the chart below for what should be black and what should be white. I have the same on my 70RR, except I have the bench. If that is a FT6 next to the P6XW, then yes the color is burnt tan metallic. If that is an EW1 to the right of the P6XW, then your upper door frames inside will be alpine white.

What about the exterior stripes? Why does that come up as plumy crazy longitudinal stripes? v6c or v6g

Looks like this...IMO

P6XW - Interior - Premium, bucket seats vinyl, white & black
V1W - White vinyl roof
V6C - Longitudinal tape stripes "Plum Crazy" -(V68 would be stripe delete)....if that is what is stamped - very hard to read.
also, I can see what looks like EW1, which would mean this car was Alpine White.

Hope that helps. Pics under the dash and behind kick panels can be useful...or under the drip rail mouldings.

The stripe delete would seem to make a lot more sense to me and I am sure it would to kiwi also which is why he added that. Sometimes looking at the backside of the fender tag you can see the stamping a little better.

Thanks for all the responses, makes a lot more sense now.

I agree. The V6 options would be W, X, Y and 8. No possible stripe codes match what is left on the tag except for V68. It looks the right half of the 8 is missing.

EW1 in that position tells us the inner upper door panels were painted white (to go with the black and white interior).

Concurred. The EW1 on my RR is in the same spot on my fender tag telling me the same thing.

anyone know where the other vin locations are? Is it same locations as 69? radiator support? trunk drip rail? thanks.

Yep, radiator support and then the trunk lip on the drivers side. See below pic for approximate trunk lip location.
