Good tips on this site; please keep them coming. Still working on a Coronet 500 cloned into an RT with updated 5 speed tremec, updated air, electrical, firm feel steering, and AM/FM/CD. Didn't want to update a number matching ride. Has over 100K on it and obtained it from previous owner who had repainted from yellow to red and excellent paint with clear coat. Still wanting to put bigger disk brakes on the front to help it stop. Thanks for suggestions. Faux Coronet RT.

Wow!!! beautiful car, can you have a pic of the steering Wheel, what brand it is?, i want to replace the one in my 66 charger and your's seems beautiful. Thanks.

nice Coronet, welcome to FBBO

Nice. Welcome. Instead of discs, I upgraded the 11" Hemi drums with a kit from Praysedino. Different shoe material, stronger springs etc. Brakes work good for me. More pics please.

Thanks for the compliment. The steering wheel is Flaming River Navigator wheel at Flaming River.

We then added the Chrysler symbol insert from some ebay website and it looks great. Much easier steering with this wheel.

Thanks and Amen to Liberals. As Michael Savage in San Fran says...Liberalism is a mental disorder...he also has a book by the same title. More pictures are available at www.moparresto.com under "finished projects" and 1968 dodge. mike

any pictures with the buckets ?
Peter: Thanks for asking. The buckets were made by onlineupolsteryandmore.com in New York. I think he has a pic of the car on his site.
They turned out well. The best pictures are at
www.moparresto.com
The mechanic in deerfield beach took them. Please go to "finished projects" and
1968 Dodge coronet. I even had them add headrests but they are in fixed position.

I just looked at the pictures .... very nice car !!! I am just finishing a similar 69 with 6 pack but not as nice.

Thanks. Mine is a cloned 500 that someone did a good job on the paint and trim for it to be an R/T. The 68, 69 and 70 had some of the best lines, although I still like the "V" tops of 66-67. My mechanic has a six pack RR and says he can tune it correctly. Mine is just 4 BBL. I put a 5-speed tremec and highway axle and it is more practical on the highway...at 70 mph it is revving about 1700 rpms..it is still a box going down the road, however. Put sound deadening in it but getting a lot of noise from the big back Goodyears which I will replace when worn. There was a 69 RT Red/Red vert in Hemmings for $85M recently. There are fewer around as years go by. Good luck with your project...they tend to go on and on...

Thanks for the compliment. Upgraded the rear brakes to bigger drums and really helped the stopping power. The mechanic (I have no ability) is to work on the brake lines and a transmission leak that just developed (it was a new Tremec just two+ years ago). The interior and top is a "bright white" that was not available back then but really sets off the car and matches the rear stripe that was put on by former owner. If you are in the military, thanks for your service. Be safe!!!
